Why We Shouldn’t Worry About DeVonta Smith

Mad Titan here again to talk about DeVonta Smith and his injury in training camp. The Philadelphia Eagles traded up from he 12th overall pick to get Smith over the New York Giants. He was a beast in Alabama but already finds himself on the sideline with a knee sprain. Many people think this is a sign of things to come due to his small stature. Mind you, a knee sprain can happen to anyone just like any injury, but this isn’t looking good at all for Smith. I am not sure it is of concern that people need to overreact to.

Size Isn’t Everything

Being criticized by everyone is probably normal for Smith with him being undersized. Does it mean he is going to be too small for the NFL? In his final year in Alabama he had 117 catches, 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns, so he did pretty good. Let’s look at DeSean Jackson, who was 168 lbs at the draft and did just fine for the Eagles and other teams. I am sure Smith will be fine and put on some weight this offseason. Yes, Smith is a very small receiver, but let’s wait a little before we say he won’t make it.

Just Breath DeVonta Smith Is Fine

If you are one of the FF players who want to ditch Smith right now, take a seat and stay off the apps. He sprained his knee, big deal. It isn’t a huge injury and won’t effect him long term. STOP BEING SO QUICK TO DROP/TRADE!!! Why do it when his value couldn’t be lower at this point in time. Do what my son says and “count to 4 and breath because you are being silly.” Smith will be just fine and so will you. He was a beast in Alabama and he will continue to show how good he is. Have patience and faith and trust the process as good ole Doc Rivers would say. So stop being that over reactive person and just pull up the big boy pants and wait. HE IS FINE!!!
