First I want to apologize. I took a two week hiatus and have not made blog picks since Week 2. I went 5-0 betting that week and now I am 8-2 on the season from blog picks. If you don’t believe me here were my Week 1 picks. So that is 80% overall which will not stay consistent this whole season I can promise. However, let’s assume Weeks 3 and 4 I went 1-4 each. That’s still even on the season at 10-10. That’s all hypothetical though and trust me I love the board this week.

I am not going to get into the winners from Week 2 because frankly who cares! If I had a Week 3 article we would have gone into them more but we are way past that point now. I do want to take a moment right now to show you the best betting ATS teams in the first quarter of the season. If you know me you understand how upset it makes me seeing the Cowboys number one, but the silver lining is good for Dak he deserves it.

Time for the good stuff. Disclaimer all the NFL lines I am using are on Bovada.com. Now let’s look at the Week 5 betting locks I have for you!

Saints @ Football Team: Pick Saints -2.5

The Saints are coming off an embarrassing loss at home to the Giants. It was their first home game all season in New Orleans and they looked terrible. Washington is coming off a great win versus Atlanta and Heinicke looks pretty electric out there. Here is a play by McKissic that actually helped many Washington bettors cover last week.

So why am I taking the Saints? Simple, I believe that they are desperate. The NFC is loaded and the Saints cannot be dropping games. They are 2-2 right now and only one game out of last place. They went to New England in Week 3 and got a great win, now I expect them to bounce back similarly on the road in Week 5.

This should be a good game in general but expect Sean Payton to have his team ready for this matchup. I think Winston and Kamara both shine in this one. Jameis and the Saints are gonna be eating the W after this one I like Saints -2.5.

Eagles @ Panthers: Pick Panthers -3

Notice a trend? Week 1 and 2 of the NFL season I took the Panthers. I love the Panthers. They just made a big pickup via trade to getting Gilmore from the Patriots. They won’t have him suit up this game but I wish I had the Panthers to make the playoffs before the season started.

Frankly, the Eagles are just dysfunctional. I do not trust them at all and do not understand why this number is so low. Yes, they scored vs the Chiefs but frankly that defense stinks and can’t stop a nosebleed.

I love the Panthers because of their stout defense and Sam Darnold. He has been money all year and has had a rebirth in Carolina. The last reason why I like the Panthers, both teams have recently played the Cowboys in Dallas. The Eagles lost 41-21, the Panthers lost 36-28. Panthers are at home have the better team and frankly, -3 is a gift and the Notorius CMC might be playing. Take Carolina and have no second thoughts about it.

Browns @ Chargers: Pick Browns +2

This might be the most entertaining game of the week. The Browns vs the Chargers in LA. Baker vs Herbert. This is fun. I like the Browns personally because of their run game. Chubb and Hunt are so hard to stop and frankly, the Browns are dogs. You give the Browns and points I am going to take them. Chargers also do not really have a home-field advantage and I personally thought that defense looked vulnerable at times on Monday Night.

Baker also had an Instagram story Wednesday night which made me want to run through a brick wall so this may be a passion pick. I can’t find it right now but it was essentially about how he has been doubted his whole life and I think this game is one he shows up in. I think these teams are going to meet again in the playoffs personally, but in this matchup, I like the Browns +2. You are gonna notice a trend soon about the dogs barking!

Bears @ Raiders: Pick Bears +5.5

This is going to be short. I am taking the Bears +5.5 vs the Raiders because of Justin Fields. They finally announced him as the starter going forward and I think he is going to prove the coaching staff right. The Bears have a good defense the offense needs to get going though. If that offensive game plan is catered around Field’s strengths then I honestly think the Bears offense is going to look special.

The Raiders are very strong and Carr has performed like an MVP this year. However, I am not choosing the Bears to win. I am choosing them to cover 5.5. That’s a lot of points and I bet the Bears are ready to rally for Fields. He is going to be so much fun to watch in Vegas I can’t wait. Might have to order some Chicago deep dish for this one. DA BEARS +5.5 take it to the bank.

Colts @ Baltimore: Pick Colts +7

First Monday Night Football game I have taken all year and instant thought on the spread was that +7 is a lot. Yes, you can hate Carson Wentz and I know he is not the best QB. However, the Colts have a very strong team top to bottom and should be able to challenge the Ravens. Colts are coming off a win too so I expect the locker room to be pretty jazzed up and ready to go.

Lamar is great and I am not one of those idiots that thinks he is just a running back. He will get his no doubt. But I think this game is close and the Colts lose a heartbreaker. The Ravens will win but it will be close. Expect Jonathan Taylor to have a big impact in this game keeping Lamar off the field.
