Betting, Gambling

Best, Prop, Value Day One

Welcome to Best, Prop, Value where we bring you three bets everyday.

Best bet being what our favorite play of the day is, the Value bet being the play with the best odds that we can see winning, and the Prop bet, well that’s pretty self explanatory, it’ll be our favorite prop bet of the day.

Over the All-Star break, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the Home Run Derby coming in at +450 odds, while Elias Diaz won the ASG MVP at a whopping +9500.

But now with the MLB returning from its short All-Star break, we are no longer without any of the four major sports, and with real games today we can get back on the horse and attack the slate. A good day for all gamblers.

To kick it off, we head to Wrigley for the best bet of the day.

*All odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook*

Best Bet

Boston Red Sox -120

Sitting at 48-43, last in the AL East, the Sox are looking to grind out the second half of the season and make a playoff push.

Heading into the break on a five game winner and 8-2 in their last 10, the Sox are rolling hot, and will try to continue the hot streak over a middling Chicago Cubs team.

The Cubs head into the game at 42-47 and 5-5 through their last 10.

The Sox will trot Brayan Bello out onto the mound who has been a bright spot for this pitching staff and team. The 24 year old rookie boasts a 3.04 ERA and 6-5 record heading into the matchup.

With the Sox lineup clicking and Bello on the mound the Sox are a tough team to beat, and the Cubs don’t have the firepower to keep up, ranking 19th in hits, 18th in batting average, and 13th in runs scored.

Prop Bet

Brayan Bello Over 4.5Ks -140

For the prop bet we stay on the diamond, and we stay at Wrigley too.

We are going to double up here and roll with the hot hand.

To pair with our best bet of the Red Sox money line, we go with Bello Ks. Bello is 3-1 in his last four, and averaging five Ks in his average seven innings pitched. If the Sox do win it’s likely Bello has a stellar day on the mound.

And he’s going against a team that struggles in this department. The Cubs currently rank eighth in most strikeouts in the league this season with 816. It will also be their first look against Bello.

This will be his sixth start on the mound on the road, though not much of a change there. Bello is 2-1 on the road and averaging 4.4 strikeouts per six innings pitched.

Value Bet

Arizona Diamondbacks +150

There’s not many value bets that I love on the slate today, but the Arizona Diamondbacks getting in at +150 is a line that’s tough to skip out on with how well they have been playing this year.

The Diamondbacks are one of the surprise teams of the season up to this point. Holding a record of 52-39 and ranked seventh in runs scored, the Dbacks stormed through the preseason projections with still half a season to go.

Ryne Nelson takes the mound, who hasn’t had the best season so far but has put together a decent 5-5 record in his rookie season.

I’m not exactly oozing confidence in this one, but the value is certainly there.

I’d like to steer more towards the New York Mets at plus money over the Los Angeles Dodgers, but at basically a pick ‘em that’s not exactly the definition of a huge “value bet.”

In Conclusion

That’ll do it for day one of Best, Prop, Value, Let’s hope to have a day today, see you all at the cashier.
