Buy Low on Kyler Murray Again

A year ago, I wrote an article telling everyone to buy low on Kyler Murray. Somehow, I need to do this again. A year ago, he was being valued around the QB 14-18 and often being sold for 1-2 average/random 1sts. He had an injury dip, and his value did improve, but it’s still somehow too low. When there’s a young QB who is good for fantasy with job security, they should be a top dynasty asset. However, he is still being valued as the QB11 and around 22nd overall in dynasty Superflex leagues whereas I think he should be taken in the first round of startups. Silly narratives about his injuries, size, and attitude keep his value down. Take advantage of that. Buy low on Kyler Murray again.

History

He started his first 3 seasons as a top 10 fantasy QB including a top 2 finish. Kyler managed to be QB7 as a rookie despite being on one of the worst teams in the league. He was on track to finish easily as a top-10 QB again in his 4th season before injuries derailed it. This past season, despite coming in out of practice, off an injury, with a poor team around him, he still finished as a top 10 QB per game.

Future

The Cardinals played much better than anyone expected this past season, even before Kyler’s return. Despite his quirkiness, Jonathan Gannon seems to at worst be a competent head coach. Kyler should be healthier and more game-ready this upcoming season as well. Trey McBride also looks like a rising star at TE. With two first-round draft picks along with the high possibility they add a stud rookie prospect in Harvin Harrison Jr or Malik Nabers this upcoming draft, he should also have a solid young receiving corps around him. He also has job security with that contract of his and proven talent to keep the Cardinals from reneging on it.

Wrap-Up

So how is a QB who has the upside to be the top QB and who always finishes as a top 10 QB when healthy being drafted outside of that? Because recency bias, ignorance, and silly narratives are huge in the fantasy community. Buy low on Kyler Murray again.
