The race that should’ve been months ago but got canceled at the last second due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 should be a good one. Especially since once again no practice and qualifying by pure luck of draw. This fast worn-out middle Georgia track is bound to put on a show for us racing fans tomorrow. Here are my six drivers of choice for your Draft Kings and betting needs.
Folds of Honor Big Money
Kevin Harvick ($11,700)
This man has the highest odds in Vegas (5/1) and one of the highest DFS salaries for tomorrow’s race. I mean, in all honesty, it’s rightfully earned. Since joining SHR in 2014 Harvick has one finish outside of the top ten. He has also won once and led a whopping 960 laps in that same amount of time. Something about this track just appeals to Harvick’s driving style. I look for him to have a strong showing tomorrow when the green flag drops on the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 in Atlanta.
Chase Elliott ($9,900)
Arguably one of the hottest teams and drivers on the track since racing resumed. Chase was able to grab the pole position by luck of the draw put him instantly out front. His odds in Vegas are the same as Kyle Busch at 13/2 tomorrow. However, in four career starts at his home state track Chase has only finished outside of the top ten once and that was last year. With the start that he has had coming back to the track since the COVID lay off it’s almost like that team just grabbed onto something and is running with it for sure. Chase at $9,900 is a little more affordable than Harvick obviously but I think his chances are just as good for a solid top-five finish. I mean he could’ve won two in a row if it wasn’t for some classic short track racing last weekend.
The Most Affordable
Brad Keselowski ($8,900)
Listen let’s just be honest the fact you’ve got a two-time winner at an affordable $8,900 and his odds are sitting at 9/1 in Vegas is odd to me. Brad while yes some would say “lucked” himself into two wins he has won twice. Also not to mention in the last three races at Atlanta he has won twice and finished second once shows he can lead the field. His 8th place starting spot for tomorrow puts him in the top ten to begin the race. With there being no qualifying or practice this is exactly the type of race Brad can flourish because he like most veteran drivers knows how to take care of tires and his car.
Aric Almirola ($6,800)
Alright, first off this man is starting second tomorrow. Normally you’d see a second-place starter with a higher salary. However, also to go along with that in the last two races here Aric has averaged around a tenth place finish. He’s also been able to lead a little over thirty laps as well. Aric is that kind of sneaky driver who most underestimates but with the equipment, he very well could turn in a good run tomorrow especially starting upfront. Plus being teammates with Kevin Harvick who loves this track is always a plus.
Low Ball Options
Erik Jones ($6,600)
I’ve been kind of high on this young man since the break much like Chase Elliott. He has put in a bunch of solid runs since returning to the track. It also helps this man that in three career starts his worst finish is 14th. Which coincidentally is his season average finishing position on the season so far. I think Erik is a driver you should think about taking the under on tomorrow before the race he could definitely reward you.
John H. Nemechek ($6,000)
Look at this point, my salary is really running low so it’s kind of just go with the best one you can for the Folds of Honor 500. However, I feel like John Hunter has just befallen on some horrible luck since his awesome run back at the first Darlington race. He was able to recently rebound with two top twenty finishes at both Charlotte races and a 13th place finish last week at Bristol. Not to mention he has also shown really good speed early in the races so if he and his team could wrap that speed up for the whole race a top ten finish is easily obtainable because he is racing a lot further ahead of his equipment in my opinion.
Listen I’ve been away from the odds articles for a few races now. However, these guys over on the main fantasy site are always writing and putting out solid content so stay tuned to them all! I hope to get back into a swing of things and throw some solid racing content in at least once or twice a week.
