Welcome to the Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update! For the third consecutive season, Belly Up Fantasy Sports is proud to host the Belly Up Bowl fantasy tournament to raise money for charity. And for the second year in a row, we’re partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. This year, 72 teams across six leagues are vying for the trophy, a bit of prize money, and the right to call themselves the 2022 Belly Up Bowl champion. Each week from now until the championship game, we’ll update you on who’s hot and who’s not in each league, including notes on league standings and the top five overall ranking. Remember, this is a “Best Ball” format, and overall scoring is just as important as win-loss record.

Each Belly Up Bowl league is named after a real Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Hero. We’ve linked to each of their stories in their league’s review, so we can keep in perspective why we’re all here. A reminder that in addition to the money we’re donating raised from players’ league entry fees, you can always donate directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. You can also check out the many other ways to help, either by utilizing one of the additional methods of giving, or by getting involved directly. Scoring Format

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Amara

Team HighLowSports and Team PapaDragon2005 continued their winning ways and remain atop the League Amara standings both record-wise and from a scoring standpoint. Things are still tight behind them. Team KornerBoothJared took a loss this week, but remains fourth in points. Behind him, there’s a logjam, with seven teams separated by less than 56 points.

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Heather

League Heather continues to see the highest-scoring teams in the league near- but not at– the top. Team RyanMinerFFB won for the fifth time in as many weeks and is the only undefeated team in League Heather, despite being just fourth in total points scored. Team epurdue21 rode the league’s highest score for the week to the top of the points rankings, moving up to third place in the standings in the process.

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Landon

There are no more unbeatens in League Landon, as Team GenesisFantasyCards finally succumbed. Team GenesisFantasyCards fell all the way to third place, as they have scored the third-fewest points in the league in spite of their record. Team PickleRiot66 and Team rrummel90 join Team GenesisFantasyCards at 4-1. Hard-luck points leader SFCARNAGE picked up a victory, but remains mired in seventh place at 2-3.

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Leevi

Our two unbeaten teams in League Leevi remained so in Week 5. Team BuckeyeFan91 and Team CaptainLou65 both took care of business. The two teams also rank first and second in points in League Leevi. There remains a bit of a gulf points-wise between the top five teams and Wil Sea in sixth place. Wil Sea took a bad beat this week. The scored the second-most points in the league, only to lose to TeamBuckeyeFan91 by just 1.12 points.

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Mary

Team blainebellyupsports lucked out in Week 5. Despite taking their first loss of the season, Team blainebellyupsports maintained their grip on first place thanks to Team thebeav1228 also losing. Team FFReserve sits second at 4-1. Team GoingFor2DotCom’s bad luck continued. They lost their matchup and lost ground in the standings, but still have more total points than the three teams directly above them in the standings.

Fast Fallers: Team AndrewLeduc-BellyUpSports, Purple Pride (-3)

High Score of the Week: Team sugarfreemocha (221.60)

Belly Up Bowl Week 5 Update: League Preslie

The rich got richer in League Preslie in Week 5. Not only did Team thorhalla remain unbeaten, but they vaulted to the top of the league in scoring thanks to the highest game score of the week in League Preslie. Team thorhalla still has the lowest total of points scored against them across all leagues. General Mills must have had their Lucky Charms, as they had the lowest score of any winning team in the league, leading to the narrowest victory in all League Preslie contests. Their victory elevated them to second in the league with a 4-1 record. Team crewser128 is also 4-1, but have the fifth-fewest total points in the league.
