Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update

Welcome to the Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update! For the third consecutive season, Belly Up Fantasy Sports is proud to host the Belly Up Bowl fantasy tournament to raise money for charity. And for the second year in a row, we’re partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. This year, 72 teams across six leagues are vying for the trophy, a bit of prize money, and the right to call themselves the 2022 Belly Up Bowl champion. Each week from now until the championship game, we’ll update you on who’s hot and who’s not in each league, including notes on league standings and the top five overall ranking. Remember, this is a “Best Ball” format, and overall scoring is just as important as win-loss record.

Each Belly Up Bowl league is named after a real Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Hero. We’ve linked to each of their stories in their league’s review, so we can keep in perspective why we’re all here. A reminder that in addition to the money we’re donating raised from players’ league entry fees, you can always donate directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. You can also check out the many other ways to help, either by utilizing one of the additional methods of giving, or by getting involved directly. REMINDER: Any Belly Up Bowl participant still needing to donate ($20.00) for the league entry should do so HERE and use either your name or your Sleeper team name so we can check you off our list. Please and thank you! With that, let’s get you up to speed with the Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update.

Scoring Format

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Amara

Team PapaDragon2005 and Team HighLowSports continue their reign atop the League Amara standings with identical 7-2 records. Team PapaDragon2005 is not only the highest-scoring team in the league, but the second-highest scoring overall team across all Belly Up Bowl leagues. In third place, Team JordanJames has the second-most points in Amara and find themselves eighth overall in points. Entering Week 10, Team tjsumpter55 is one of just two Belly Up Bowl teams with a losing record but who are still in the top six of their league. Parity is the name of the game in this league, as every team is still within realistic striking distance of finishing in the top six. Every team has at least three wins. Team ryanhicks63 is the lowest-scoring team in Amara, but has outscored eight other teams from the other Bowl leagues.

High Riser: Team KornerBoothJared (+2)

Fast Fallers: Team tjsumpter55, Teamryanhicks63 (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team PapaDragon2005 (224.30)

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Heather

Team RyanMinerFFB still sits in first place in League Heather, but is just fifth in total scoring. Conversely, Team epurdue21 is the seventh-highest scoring team across all Belly Up Bowl leagues, but is only hanging onto sixth place record-wise in the league. Team ADion802 has turned things around over the last month and now has the most points and second-best record in Heather. Belly Up Adam has had some terrible luck, as they are the lone 1-8 team in the Belly Up Bowl despite not being the lowest-scoring team in League Heather. Belly Up Adam actually ranks 54th out of 72 teams in scoring across leagues. Teams have scored more points (1,637.58) against Belly Up Adam than any other Bowl team. League Heather has scored the most total points (18,002.34) of any of the six leagues in this year’s Belly Up Bowl.

High Riser: Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves (+3)

Fast Fallers: Team 18n1CallMeGreat, The CHAMP is here! (-3)

High Score of the Week: Team RyanMinerFFB (211.90)

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Landon

Unlucky Team rrummel90 is the only Belly Up Bowl team with a winning record to find themselves out of the top six in their league. Team PickleRiot66 remains in first place, while top scorers Team venomsoldier01 are just one game back. Team venomsoldier01 has the fewest total points (1,610.44) of any league scoring leader and is the only Landon team with over 1600 points. Consequently, League Landon has the closest point spread of any Belly Up Bowl league. Just 273.24 points separate Team venomsoldier01 from low-scorer Team badprodigy. This is another league where the standings could change dramatically in the course of a week or two, with only the top three seemingly safe.

High Riser: Team venomsoldier01 (+2)

Fast Fallers: SFCARNAGE, Team rrummel90 (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team venomsoldier01 (193.28)

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Leevi

League Leevi currently boasts the top overall team in the entire Belly Up Bowl. Team BuckeyeFan91 is the only team in any league with over 1800 points and one of just two teams with only one loss. Leevi also has a team with a losing record in sixth place, as Wil Sea is just 4-5 despite being fourth in scoring in the league. Team CaptainLou65 has had some kind of luck to sit in third place at 7-2 even though they’re just seventh in scoring in the league. The 197.76 point total separating Team BuckeyeFan91 from BellyUpWill represents the largest discrepancy between top scoring teams in any league.

High Riser: Wil Sea (+2)

Fast Faller: Team BellyUpMike (-2)

High Score of the Week: BellyUpWill (198.62)

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Mary

League Mary has the closest battle for the top spot of any league in the Belly Up Bowl. Team sugarfreemocha and @EmPoweredFF are tied with identical 7-2 records. Further, Team sugarfreemocha is the highest-scoring team in Mary, but lead @EmPoweredFF by only 23.38 points. Both teams are riding high, with Team sugarfreemocha on a six game winning streak and @EmPoweredFF winning five straight. On the opposite end of this streaky league, Team blainebellyupsports and Purple Pride have each lost five in a row.

High Riser: Team All22FantasyGM (+2)

Fast Faller: Team AndrewLeduc-BellyUpSports (-3)

High Score of the Week: Team All22FantasyGM (175.10)

Belly Up Bowl Week 9 Update: League Preslie

League Preslie is a league of contradictions. Team thorhalla paces Preslie with a league-best 8-1 record and is the third highest scoring team in the Belly Up Bowl. Last-place Team ShaneSays has scored the fewest points (1145.28) of any team in the Bowl. Teams have scored fewer points (1331.82) against Team ShaneSays than any other team. Yet, ShaneSays has only two wins to show for all that lack of offense. Further, Team rusj75 in seventh place is the highest-scoring team in the Bowl with a losing record. They’re 4-5 despite 1,558.52 points (21st overall.) Just ahead of them is General Mills at 5-4 with just 1,389.38 points (61st overall.) That makes General Mills the lowest-scoring winning team across all leagues.

High Risers: Team injuredlistpod, Team DirrtyHarry5, Team CommishCasey, Team Flawless (+1)

Fast Faller: General Mills (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team injuredlistpod (197.24)
