Best, Prop, Value Day Three

After a 2-1 outing in the first ever Best, Prop, Value, we followed it up with a 1-2 day.

The best bet of the day was a disaster as the Cincinnati Reds were held scoreless and only delivered one total hit.

The prop bet was the lone winner as Ronald Acuna Jr came through with a homer in his second at-bat to cash 2+ bases. He finished 3-5, with two home runs and a stolen base on the day.

The value bet was a loss at +170, not surprising. Had the right read on it as Steven Matz left the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning, but the Washington Nationals weren’t able to produce enough after that.

To kick off day three we head over to Texas for our best bet.

Best Bet

Texas Rangers -135

The Texas Rangers are rolling this year with a record of 54-39, though they’re in a little bit of a down stretch right now, only winning four of their last six.

Going up against the Cleveland Guardians who are having a pretty iffy start to their season as they are 45-47 through 92 games, and 5-5 in their last 10.

The Rangers have won the first two matchups of this series in dominant fashion, outscoring the Guardians 14-4, and I believe that will continue in the third and final game.

The pitching matchup is pretty even here with the Rangers turning the ball to Martin Perez who is 7-3 while the Guardians go with 5-2 Tanner Bibee.

The Texans’ firepower offense should prove too much though, as they’re the number one ranked team in batting average, hits, runs, and on base percentage.

Prop Bet

Marlins No Run First Inning(NRFI)

One of the most fun bets in any sport is the NRFI/YRFI, and that’s where we are headed today.

It took us until day three to break it out, but here we are. The pitching matchup here gives us two stout guys dueling it out with Steven Okert for the Marlins, and Kyle Bradish for the Orioles.

Okert is 3-0 this season with an ERA of 2.53, while Bradish is 5-4 with a 3.32 ERA.

The NRFI has hit in both games to start this series, which I don’t love, but the pitching battle plus the fact that both teams have struggled with first-inning runs lately, more the Orioles than the Marlins, has us leaning NRFI again.

Value Bet

Carlos Alcaraz +168

For the value bet, we head over to the Center Court grass of Wimbledon, where number one-ranked Carlos Alcaraz is facing his toughest opponent thus far in second-ranked Novak Djokovic, also known as the greatest of all time.

While Alcaraz hasn’t faced too much trouble on his road to the finals, dominating the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune, this matchup is one that will bring everything out of him if he wants a chance to win.

For the first time all tournament, he will be the underdog.

If Alcaraz has struggled at all in this tournament up to this point, it has been his break-point percentage. If he can’t execute at a high level there, it will certainly open the door for Djokovic who has been playing fantastic tennis as of late and is looking to claim a tie with the great Roger Federer for the most wins ever(eight) at the prestigious Wimbledon Championship.

One of, if not the greatest of all time, going against the new generation, and a guy people believe can eventually be the greatest ever. This is what the sports world wanted and it’s what we have gotten.

Expect this one to be a battle that’ll force both players to play their best to compete with one another, for a potential classic meeting in the finals of Wimbledon.

*Fair warning, I have a future on Carlos already so this is potentially swaying my pick for my value bet here.

In Conclusion

That’s it for day three. Let’s hope to have a day today. Enjoy.
