Ceilings and Floors: Tennessee Titans

This is the 12th of 32 Ceilings and Floors, covering each NFL team’s QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs. We finish up the AFC South with the Tennessee Titans. In case you missed it, here is the breakdown for the Jacksonville Jaguars. (Depth Charts courtesy of footballguys.com)

Ceilings and Floors: Quarterback

QB1: Ryan Tannehill

CEILING: Tannehill improves in year two of this offense. He throws for 33 TDs along with 4,300 yards.

FLOOR: Ryan Tannehill does not get better, he rides a dominant RB and OL, and he produces a moderate 22 TD, 3,300-yard season.

PREDICTION: Tannehill looked capable running the Titans Offense last year, and I expect a year of continuity helps him. 30 TDs, 3,900 yards.

QB2: Logan Woodside

CEILING: Tannehill goes down preseason, and Woodside plays game manager successfully enough to get the Titans into the playoffs. 24 TDs, 3,100 yards.

FLOOR: He never plays. Tannehill won’t lose the job after that contract, so it will take an injury. Between Tannehill’s athleticism, his OL, and Tennessee’s love of pounding the ball, he has a good chance at starting every game.

PREDICTION: He isn’t playing. Not in 2020 at least.

QB3: Cole McDonald

CEILING: McDonald would need two injuries to start, and in that scenario I see Tennessee acquiring outside talent to start at QB. His potential lies more long-term, if he has any.

FLOOR: He should make the team.

PREDICTION: A year for Tennessee to see if he belongs on their roster.

Ceilings and Floors: Running Back

Ceilings and Floors
RB1: Derrick Henry

CEILING: Henry continues tearing the league to pieces, scoring 22 total TDs to go along with 2,000 total yards. Teams have no answer for his size and speed.

FLOOR: Henry breaks down. He has carried a major load, and after a strong start to the season, he fades towards fantasy playoff time. 9 total TDs, 1,000 total yards

PREDICTION: They are gonna run the wheels off this guy, but not this year. 15 TDs and 1,600 yards.

RB2: Darrynton Evans

CEILING: Evans spells Henry and has an efficient season, with 9 TDs and 1,000 total yards. If Henry goes down, he could see 14 TDs and 1,500 total yards.

FLOOR: Henry dominates the touches, and Evans sees minimal usage. 2 TDs, 450 yards.

PREDICTION: Evans is gonna have a share in the offense, albeit a small one. 4 TDs, 600 yards.

RB3: Dalyn Dawkins

CEILING: One of the two former backs go down, and Dawkins scores 2 TDs and has 300 yards.

FLOOR: He plays zero offensive snaps.

PREDICTION: The latter seems very probable, why would he play with what is ahead of him?

RB4: Shaun Wilson, RB5: Senorise Perry, RB6: Khari Blasingame

CEILING: Blasingame makes the roster. Seriously, that’s the ceiling for the other two also.

FLOOR: None of them make any NFL team.

PREDICTION: Blasingame is the only one with the potential to contribute in any meaningful way down the road, but not now.

Ceilings and Floors: Wide Receiver

Ceilings and Floors
WR1: A.J. Brown

CEILING: A.J. Brown continues where he left off last season, climbing the ranks of the elite. A 15 total TD, 1,800 total yard season forces him into the conversation.

FLOOR: Brown plateaus, delivering a similar performance to 2019, with 9 total TDs and 1111 total yards.

PREDICTION: I absolutely love A.J. Brown. More than anyone I have spoken with so far. I think he explodes in 2020, and 14 TDs to go along with 1,700 yards would make me look really smart. And feel so nice.

WR2: Corey Davis

CEILING: Davis benefits from the attention Brown receives, going for 10 TDs and 1,100 yards , reminding everyone of his draft pedigree.

FLOOR: Davis is a bust. 2 TDs and 600 yards once again, and he is looking for work in the offseason.

PREDICTION: I think Davis is a solid WR2, and he should have a decent 6 TD, 800 yard season.

WR3: Adam Humphries

CEILING: Humphries is unlocked as a slot weapon, and scores 8 TDs to go along with 900 yards receiving.

FLOOR: Humphries remains inconsistent, becoming an afterthought in the offense. 2 TDs, 300 yards.

PREDICTION: Humphries should see some action, so I like 4 TDs and 700 yards.

WR4: Cameron Batson, WR5: Kalif Raymond, WR6: Cody Hollister

CEILING: Injuries decimate the Titans WR corps, and these guys still don’t really move the needle.

FLOOR: Snap count = zero.

PREDICTION: A combined 3 catches for 11 yards between the two of them who make the team.

Ceilings and Floors: Tight End

Ceilings and Floors
TE1: Jonnu Smith

CEILING: In a breakout year, Smith erupts with 10 TDs and 900 yards. A star is born.

FLOOR: Smith continues to only show flashes, with his inconsistency leading to a 4 TD, 450 yard season.

PREDICTION: I like Jonnu this year, he has shown serious potential. 7 TDs, 800 yards, some fantasy believers.

TE2: Anthony Firkser

CEILING: Jonnu goes down, and Firkser posts a solid 6 TD, 600 yard season.

FLOOR: Firkser is still TE2, so he scores once and adds 200 yards.

PREDICTION: He isn’t awful, but that’s not necessarily a phrase you want said about your fantasy players. 3 TDs, 300 yards.

TE3: Mycole Pruitt, TE4: Cole Herdman

CEILING: Depth pieces and towel waivers.

FLOOR: Deep-cleaning towel washers.

PREDICTION: They make the team as depth, but contribute next to nothing.
