Don’t Get Attached: Sell High

So you have the number one QB, RB, WR, or TE in fantasy. You’ll be super tempted to make them an untradable asset, but in my opinion, that’s a big mistake. Don’t get attached, sell high.

If you look at the top five QBs, RBs, WRs, or TEs over the past five years, you’ll notice the list changes quite a lot each year. Players enter, players leave, and players change spots in the rankings. If you asked anyone who was the most likely to finish top at their position this year, most people would have said Travis Kelce. And that didn’t happen.

Making a top player untradable is like holding onto a stock at an unprecedented peak. It’s better to see how much you can get for them than to just shut down all offers. People may be willing to overpay for your guys.

Of Josh Allen, Jonathan Taylor, Cooper Kupp, and Mark Andrews, Taylor is the only one I think is likely to repeat as number one. But because RBs injure themselves so often, I am not even very confident in that call.

Of course, you can pair this strategy with buying low. Kyler Murray, D’Andre Swift, Davante Adams, and TJ Hockenson are all players I think could surpass the aforementioned names next year yet you could possibly trade down from those number one options to these guys and get a haul along with it.

Wrap-Up

Hopefully, this article reminds you, don’t get attached. If having your favorite real-life player on your team makes it more fun for you, I can get that. But otherwise, treat everyone as tradable.
