I crack into my Top 50 WRs and this is where it starts to get interesting. I do include rookies in my rankings because I think it’s important for trade value. This is arguably one of the best WR draft classes I have ever seen. There are speedsters, elite route runners, and all-around physical WR in this draft class. We will see possibly 7-8 receivers go in the 1st 2 rounds of the NFL Draft. In this list, I have included some rookie WRs that I expect to be selected on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Please enjoy these rankings and be sure to come back later in the week when I break down more of my favorite dynasty WRs.

50. Curtis Samuel

I was a big believer in a Curtis Samuel break out in 2019. Well, despite not seeing a breakout from Samuel, we did see one from teammate D.J. Moore. I will be on the same thought going into 2020. Samuel played on 86% of snaps in 2019 which is a good start. Samuel can be used in the wildcat or as a RB and is a great tool for gadget plays. With two creative college masterminds now in Carolina, Matt Rhule and Joe Brady will bring out the best in Samuel.

He is an electric receiver and the Panthers offense should be much improved in 2020. I believe the Panthers should bring a new QB to groom into their offense under Joe Brady. Samuel will outperform his ADP in 2020 and is a must-own guy for me in dynasty leagues. He is easy to acquire and will take the next step in 2020.

49. Robby Anderson

I expected a big year from Robby Anderson in Year 2 with Sam Darnold. We never got to see what could have been because Darnold missed some games due to being sick with mono. When Darnold returned, we did see back to back 100-yard games from Anderson. Anderson is Darnold’s favorite deep threat and it is a great connection that keeps the Jets offense moving.

Anderson is set to be a free agent this offseason and I believe that he should explore his options. He may not get much interest because this is a loaded WR draft class, but at least one team will have interest in him. I could see him heading to Buffalo alongside John Brown and become a deep-threat asset for Josh Allen. Robby Anderson could hold value in dynasty leagues if he goes to a team with a better offense.

48. Julian Edelman

It is much easier for me to tell you what wasn’t banged up on Edelman’s body in 2019 than to tell you what was. Edelman suffered many injuries in 2019 but still managed to bring in over 1,100 yards and 6 TD. At age 33, he had his career-best in receiving yards. It is crazy to look at those numbers as all the media talked about was how bad the Patriots offense was. Yes, I’m not downplaying how bad the running game was but Edelman was still a bright spot for the Patriots.

We all await the decision, will Tom Brady leave the Patriots? The more I think about it, I lean that he says in New England. If Brady leaves, Edelman’s production will take a hit. I don’t want Edelman in dynasty for his youth, but Edelman could help me win now. His current ADP and asking price in dynasty leagues is at an all-time low. I am taking advantage of it and buying Edelman cheaply. If Brady returns, Edelman will be a Top 15 fantasy WR in PPR leagues. His age and the uncertainty of Brady is what makes him so low on this list.

47. T.Y. Hilton

It was expected that Hilton would take a hit when the news of Andrew Luck retirement came during the 2019 preseason. Coaches and teammates had faith in Jacoby Brissett that he could pick up the offense and see no changes. Brissett was a disappointment and Colts offense struggled tremendously in 2019. Hilton was injured for a major part of the 2019 season and only appeared in 10 games. Even in the games that Hilton appeared in, he could never get much going.

The Colts should take a hard look this offseason for a new franchise QB. I am concerned with what Hilton can do for my dynasty teams going forward. He is 30 and has been riddled by injuries for most of his career. If they bring in a new QB, it will take at least a year for them to get on the right stride. Hilton is a talented receiver but isn’t a priority for me in dynasty leagues.

46. Anthony Miller

Miller has what it takes to be an elite WR in this league. Just check out his tape from Memphis and you will see what I am talking about. We know what it is holding him back, Mitchell Trubisky. Miller has shown some bright spots in his game despite playing alongside Allen Robinson. The Bears will have to look for a different QB here, like Derek Carr or a long-shot Tom Brady. Miller has suffered multiple shoulder injuries in his first 2 years in the league.

There have been games where his shoulder has came dislocated 2-3 times and he continued to play. Miller played most of 2018 with one arm and still managed to bring in 7 TD. If the Bears move on from Trubisky, Miller will be a fantasy stud. It is important to be ahead of the game and I wouldn’t doubt that you could acquire Miller at a very cheap price. In a start-up, Miller is a must grab for me. Anthony Miller has what it takes to be a great dynasty asset.

45. Brandin Cooks

If there was a guy that you could buy dirt cheap right now, it is Brandin Cooks. He is a total buy for me. Before his 2019 campaign, Cooks had 4 straight 1,000 yard seasons. Cooks has dealt with injuries though, especially concussions. Concussions are no joke, but I feel Cooks will take better care this time around and approach his game differently. Cooks loves to go up and get it in traffic.

With his speed and size, he would make a great slot receiver. Kupp has the tangibles to play outside. I would monitor the state of Cooks’ injuries, but his ADP makes him an easy buy. Yes, there is much risk for him, but I would be willing to take that shot. Cooks is a 26-year-old receiver that has had 4 1,000 yard seasons and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him bounce back in 2020. Cooks is a sneaky buy in dynasty leagues.

44. KJ Hamler

Hamler is a raw prospect with nitrous speed. KJ doesn’t have the typical build of an NFL WR but he is an elite burner of a slot WR. Hamler can beat about any corner down the field and make the big play. I remember watching him against Michigan this year, when he beat a safety over the top, not only once, but twice for a long TD, I knew this kid would be a big name in the 2020 NFL Draft.

I think we see Hamler get picked on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. The Cardinals should use their early-round picks, to sum up, the offensive line, but if Hamler falls to the 3rd, the Cardinals would be a great location for him. He would look to replace Larry Fitzgerald in the slot and would give Kyler Murray a quick deep threat alongside Christian Kirk.

43. DeVante Parker

It only took 5 years for Parker to live up to the value for his draft stock in 2015. The 1st round draft pick didn’t get much going in his first 4 years in Miami and he finally turned it around in 2019. Parker nearly doubled every statistic in yards and touchdowns. His 72/1202/9 made him a WR1 in most leagues and probably won you a fantasy championship.

There are some questions about what sparked this breakout. I believe the departure of Adam Gase and the care-free Ryan Fitzpatrick played a huge role. To value Parker in 2020 is an unusual one. If the pieces remain the same as last year I would expect roughly the same numbers, but if the Dolphins go after another QB in the off season the tendency, chemistry could be altered. The basic eye test shows he is extremely talented, but talent doesn’t mean anything without opportunity. Dynasty drafters depending on schemes can have Parker as their WR2 or flex option.

42. John Brown

John Brown proved that he isn’t just a deep ball receiver in 2019. In his new role as the WR1 for the Buffalo Bills, Brown had the best year of his career. Brown and Josh Allen became best friends in the passing game. Allen targeted Brown 115 times and Brown brought in 72 of those balls for 1,060 yards and 6 TD. Yes, John Brown will be 30 going into the 2020 season, but it looks like he has just hit his prime. The Bills will look to add another target on the other side of Brown this offseason.

However, this will not hurt Brown at all. Brown has proven that he is Allen’s go-to guy and I would expect Brown to see less than 8 targets in any game in 2020. If you are playing in PPR leagues, I think Brown will bring in closer to 80 balls in 2020. Brown is one of my favorite targets in dynasty formats. His ADP makes him a great choice for a win-now approach.

41. Laviska Shenault Jr.

Shenault is a big body receiver that can go up and catch any ball that is thrown to him. Shenault missed some time in 2019 with injuries, but still led the FBS with 9.6 receptions a game. The 9.6 catches a game led him to be 4th in the nation with 112.3 receiving yards a game. Statistically, Lavsika had a much better 2018 than in 2019. Injuries sustained in 2019 have hurt his draft stock, but he is an outstanding receiver. He possesses a great combination of strength, speed, and size.

Shenault’s only apparent worry is that sustainability. He missed time in 2019 and also had labrum and toe surgery before the season. I think he still is a 1st-round WR and the Green Bay Packers should take a good look at him. Lining him up across from Davante Adams would give Aaron Rodgers another big red-zone target. Shenault will go in the first round of rookie drafts and would be a great pick for dynasty teams.
