Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 13

Welcome to Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 13! The name of the game this week is versatility. We have multiple players here who can provide solid production in multiple categories. They are a mixture of young guys and veterans who are showing that they can produce with the minutes they are given.

As always, do not feel obligated to pick up anyone if you do not have room on your roster. I will be providing weekly waiver wire pickup suggestions that are mainly for nine-category leagues. The picks are based on players being rostered in less than 30-percent of fantasy basketball teams. Here are some waiver wire pickups for week 13.

PG Tomas Satoransky, CHI (OKC, SA, @DEN, @DET)

The Bulls finally realize Coby White still needs time to adjust as a starting point guard. Tomas Satoransky has moved back into the starting lineup. In his first start of the season, Satoransky had 10 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 three-pointers made, and 1 steal while shooting 50-percent from the field. His minutes might not change too much, but his versatility while playing as a primary ball-handler in the starting lineup will definitely help his stat-line. The Bulls play four games this week.

PG/SG Derrick White, SA (@DET, @CHI, @CLE, @MIL)

Derrick White slowly but surely should be rounding into form. His previous game, he had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 three-pointers made, 4 BLOCKS, and 2 steals. Obviously, I do not think the blocks are sustainable, but this does show how many categories White can contribute on a good day. He is an all-around player that should still get better as the season goes on. He is still owned in less than 30-percent of leagues so taking a flyer on him would not be the worst thing in the world. The Spurs play four games this week.

SF Kenyon Martin Jr., HOU (ATL, GS, DET, OKC)

If you missed out on my article last week, Kevin Porter Jr. is probably not available anymore in your league. The Rockets are keen on starting this rebuilding movement. Another player who has emerged is Kenyon Martin Jr. This past week, Martin averaged 13 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.7 steals, and 1.5 three-pointers made while shooting 50-percent from the field. Martin is a good pickup at least until Christian Wood comes back. The Rockets play four games this week.

PF/C Robert Williams, BOS (UTAH, @CLE, SAC, ORL)

Robert Williams won’t be on the waiver wire much longer. He has without a doubt been the best Celtics big man. If the Celtics do not make a move for another big man, I see Williams getting more and more minutes resulting in more consistent production. In his previous game, he had 16 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal while shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the field. In his previous four games, he has averaged a whopping 3.8 blocks. Stop reading and come back after you pick up Williams. The Celtics play four games this week.

C Dwight Howard, PHI (NY, MIL, SAC, @NY)

Is it 2009? Okay maybe not, but Dwight Howard is playing well ever since it was announced that Joel Embiid will be out for an extended time. Tony Bradley may be the starter, but Dwight Howard seems to be playing better off the bench. In the past three games, Howard averaged 10.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 67-percent from the field. The Sixers will need Howard to play well until Embiid gets back. They play four games this week.
