Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 19

Welcome to Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 19! If you are reading this, I’m assuming you are currently in the playoffs. Congratulations! Now depending on how many waiver wire acquisitions you have left, I hope you at least have a chance to look who I think can help for this week. This list consists of players that help in separate categories and one player who has five games this week. Good luck to all that are left in the playoffs!

As always, do not feel obligated to pick up anyone if you do not have room on your roster. I will be providing weekly waiver wire pickup suggestions that are mainly for nine-category leagues. The picks are based on players being rostered in less than 30-percent of fantasy basketball teams. Here are some waiver wire pickups for week 19.

PG Malachi Flynn, TOR (CLE, BKN, @DEN, @UTAH, @LAL)

This is a huge leap of faith considering Malachi Flynn has not done much since returning to a bench role. The Raptors have an absurd five games this week. I can see the Raptors resting their starters once again for some of the games this week, which should see the return of Flynn in the starting lineup. As a starter, Flynn averages 14.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. It is possible to see how the Raptors shake their lineup game by game this week. If there is any hint of rest for their starters, Flynn is a great pickup for the Raptors game-filled week.

SG Facundo Campazzo, DEN (MEM, NO, TOR, @LAC)

The Denver Nuggets have been hit again by the injury bug. With both Monte Morris and Will Barton sidelined, this gives more opportunity for Campazzo to produce. In Campazzo’s last game, he had 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 13.0 assists, and 3.0 steals with just 1.0 turnover. Campazzo may not score or rebound a lot, but he can morph into a decent assists guy with minimal turnovers. The Nuggets are going to need his playmaking this late into the season and hopefully, he will continue to produce. The Nuggets play four games this week.

SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL (@ORL, @WAS, SAC, TOR)

Even though the Lakers are slowly getting Anthony Davis back, they are still not healthy. They still need others to step up. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has stepped up in a major way and looks to continue his stretch into this week. In the past three games, Caldwell-Pope has averaged 23.0 points and 5.3 three-pointers made while shooting 51-percent from the field. He might not be able to continue this stretch for long but might as well ride him while he is still hot. The Lakers have four games this week.

C Daniel Gafford, WAS (SA, LAL, @CLE, @DAL)

When was the last time we said that the Wizards were one of the hottest teams in the NBA? Daniel Gafford is once again on the waiver wire list because he deserves it. In his previous game, Gafford had 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 4.0 blocks while shooting 71-percent from the field. He probably will not be able to keep up the defensive production, but he does make the most of the minutes that he is given. If your team is lacking in blocks, Gafford is among the elite right now. The Wizards have four games this week.
