Fantasy Football Week 10 Sleepers & Streamers

The NFL season is past the halfway point, and the fantasy football season is only a few weeks away from the playoffs. At this time of year, bye weeks and injuries can be devastating when you need to win to stay alive. It may be time to look deep on your bench for a breakout performance or hope there is buried treasure on the waiver wire. This week has a few interesting matchups that could put your team in the win column. Below are this week’s Sleepers & Streamers!

The Difference Between Sleepers and Streamers in Fantasy Football

Sleepers are players that will continue to stay on your roster, perhaps in a backup or handcuff role. They are poised to have a big week based on matchup or injury. On the other hand, streamers are players that will be relevant only for this week. They are a quick pick-up and drop, hopefully with a big fantasy week in between.

Raiders D/ST

The Colts are bad, they are a dysfunctional mess. It’s unknown how good Jeff Saturday will be as a coach, but how much can he really help this team? The Colts offense has been so bad that fantasy defenses are averaging almost 13 points per game against them. Even if Jonathan Taylor is back, the Raiders defense is a strong start. They should be able to get after QB Sam Ehlinger all day.  Streamer

Darnell Mooney – Bears WR

Mooney has gone from preseason hype to early season bust to potentially late season hero, all thanks to Justin Fields. Recently, Fields has been on fire in fantasy, even finishing as the number one fantasy quarterback last week. This has benefitted Mooney over the last two weeks. In Week 9 he caught 5 balls for 70 yards and in Week 10 he caught 7 balls for 43 yards and TD. The Bears have a generous matchup with the Lions 29th ranked passing defense this weekend. Mooney has a chance to build on his midseason resurgence. Sleeper

Jeff Wilson – Dolphins RB

The Dolphins traded for Wilson at the deadline, and he was supposed to compete with Raheem Mostert for carries. Then, in Week 9, Wilson received an equal amount of rushing attempts and was used more in the passing game. Most rankings have Mostert above Wilson, but it’s clear that Wilson will be more involved than anticipated. It also doesn’t hurt that the system Mike McDaniel mimics is the 49ers, from where Wilson was traded. Mostert and Wilson may both perform at a high level, but don’t shy away from starting Wilson because of a running back split. Wilson will find a way to get his. Sleeper

Darius Slayton – Giants WR

The Giants offense runs primarily through Saquan Barkley, but Darious Slayton has stepped up in the passing game. The Giants, who were already thin at wide receiver, looked as if they would cut Slayton, but instead he turned into their number one receiver option. Over the last 4 games, Slayton has 15 catches, 221 yards, and a touchdown. Not eye popping numbers, but solid enough that he deserves a look. The Giants also play the poor Texans defense at home which gives Slayton a favorable matchup. Streamer

Trevor Lawrence – Jaguars QB

The Jags second year QB has had his ups and downs this year, but overall he’s been consistent in fantasy. This week, the Jags play the Chiefs, which may be a tough matchup in real life, but a favorable matchup in fantasy. The Chiefs have already allowed 4 quarterbacks to pass for over 325 yards this season while allowing around 2 passing TDs per game. It’s safe to assume that the Jags will be behind most of the day which could lead them to pass early and often. The Jags may not win, but it could be a big statistical day for Lawrence. Sleeper

Christian Watson – Packers WR

This pick is less about the confidence in Christian Watson, and more about the confidence in Aaron Rodgers. It’s tough to believe how bad the Packers have been this season, especially Rodgers. At a certain point, they’ll perform better than they have. There’s no better week than against the former Packers coach, Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys. Watson is only one of the few remaining healthy wide receivers since Romeo Doubs is out this week, and Allen Lazard is questionable. Someone has to catch the balls from Rodgers. Streamer
