Fantasy Football Week 6 Sleepers & Streamers

The Fantasy Football season is nearing the halfway point. The next few weeks can make or break your playoff hopes. There have been an unusual amount of disappointments this year but an equal amount of surprises. Week 6 brings a new crop of players with favorable matchups and increased opportunities. Don’t get caught starting a player with a bad matchup due to name recognition. It’s time to take some risks to capture this week’s win. Below is our list of this week’s top Streamers and Sleepers!

The difference between sleepers and streamers in fantasy football. Sleepers are players that will continue to stay on your roster, perhaps in a backup or handcuff role. They are poised to have a big week based on matchup or injury. On the other hand, streamers are players that will be relevant only for this week. They are a quick pick-up and drop, hopefully with a big fantasy week in between.

DJ Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

Based on previous seasons, Moore would never be considered a sleeper. This season has been completely different. Moore only has one touchdown, and his season-high is 59 yards. Some of that may fall on Moore, but the Panthers’ offense has been atrocious. This week, Moore catches a break against a Rams team that has been suspect against wide receivers. They are allowing almost 190 yards per game and over a touchdown a week to opposing wideouts. Baker Mayfield is out this week, and Matt Rhule has been fired. Perhaps, PJ Walker and a strong matchup can get Moore back to fantasy relevance. Sleeper

Jimmy Garoppolo – San Francisco 49ers QB

The Falcons are allowing just over 278 passing yards per game. Even more outrageous is that they are allowing almost a 69% completion percentage. The only quarterback this season not to exceed 250 yards and 2 TDs against the Falcons has been Jacoby Brissett. Over the past two weeks, the Falcons have allowed over 325 yards passing to Geno Smith and Tom Brady. Jimmy G has George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk ready to feast on a weak Falcons defense. Garoppolo could be in for a big, 300-yard-plus game this week. Streamer

Eno Benjamin – Arizona Cardinals RB

James Conner and Darrel Williams are banged up. Williams looks unlikely to play, and Conner hasn’t practiced yet this week. Benjamin would be next in line for an increased role. Last week, when Conner went down against the Eagles, Benjamin tallied 53 total yards and a TD. If you are dealing with the injury bug or bye weeks, Benjamin is a suitable replacement. At least for this week. Streamer

Zach Ertz – Arizona Cardinals TE

The Seahawks are terrible against tight ends. Currently, they rank dead last in fantasy, allowing 22.7 points per game. Tight ends are averaging 91.2 yards per game and nearly a touchdown per game. The Seahawks also are ranked 25th in red zone efficiency against tight ends. Ertz has a chance at a huge game this weekend. Sleeper

Taysom Hill – New Orleans Saints TE/QB

Last week was the Taysom Hill game. The Saints used him as a gadget all over the field. He ran for 3 TDs and threw a TD. For some reason, Yahoo and ESPN have him listed as a TE. He is rostered in 82% of Yahoo leagues but only 50% of ESPN leagues. His position allows him to be a cheat since you could technically get QB points in the TE slot. However, it is risky. He is the ultimate boom-or-bust pick in fantasy football. I would still risk it since Jameis Winston isn’t fully healthy. Maybe some more Taysom Hill is what the Saints will order up this week. Vikings D/ST

The Vikings’ defense enters a favorable matchup against the Dolphins. Miami is likely going to start rookie Skylar Thompson at quarterback this week. In Week 5, he finished with a total QBR of 29.2 while throwing an interception and being sacked twice. The Vikings’ defense is already strong against the pass, allowing only 262 yards per game and under a touchdown per game. Thompson should be in for a long day this weekend.  Streamer
