LisFranc Takes Down Travis Etienne. What To Do Now?

MadTitan here with yet another injury in the NFL. Travis Etienne, the 25th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft of the Jacksonville Jaguars, suffered an injury in the 2nd preseason game against the New Orleans Saints. How will this effect the Jaguars? How will it effect James Robinson? Let’s take a look together and found out how much this is going to hurt/help the team.

The Injury and Effects

Travi Etienne suffered a very unfortunate injury that will more than likely knock him out for the season. He suffered a LisFranc injury. This is a 6-8 week recovery from the actual surgery, but he can NOT put ANY weight on his foot in that time. This means, no working out, no exercise, nothing. There will also be rehabilitation after which will be 6-8 weeks if not more. This is not what the Jaguars wanted by any means. Maybe it’s karma for disrespecting JRob and bringing in Etienne (if you believe in that), but I digress. For redraft, he is not draftable, but for dynasty, he is still a viable option

Never Doubted Him

James Robinson is now going to show the NFL, once again, how good he is. Last year, he absolutely dominated being an Undrafted Free Agent.

That is a pretty good season for someone who only started 14 games and was undrafted. He finished as the 7th best RB in Both PPR and Standard formats. He, in my opinion, was still the best back there. I know I am in the minority and I Love it. He is a strong runner who can finish. Etienne was playing WR mostly in camp and JRob was still projected as the starting back. I love Robinson, mostly because he got me some wins as a free agent pickup last year, but also because he is a strong back who took the Fantasy world by surprise.

At The End Of The Day

This will hurt the Jaguars in the season for some of the gameplay that I am sure they already had made up. I just don’t believe Robinson was ever going to take the backseat to Etienne this year. With Carlos Hyde also there, I see Robinson as a clear cut winner for the starting position. Hyde just isn’t much of a threat to him aside from potential vulturing. I have James Robinson as my RB 8 now in redraft and RB 15 in dynasty just due to the fact of Etienne there long term.
