Remember The Titans Projections

Don’t forget the Titans, they are better Remembered. Tennessee had quite a few bright spots in 2019, and they are looking to build on what appears to be a solid foundation in 2020. In case you missed it, last time we covered the Houston Texans. Now we head to Nashville, to see if we can make some sweet music for Music City. “Strong Side! Left Side!”

QB:

Bet this is a touchdown to A.J. Brown

Ryan Tannehill: Passing: 330/489-3,939-26 TD: 7 INT
Rushing: 42-185-2 TD: 6 FMBL
Standard: 279.06 (15)
0.5 PPR: 279.06 (15)
1 PPR: 279.06 (15)

Logan Woodside: Passing: Out, if Tannehill goes down. He has zero experience in the NFL, and it should stay that way.
Rushing: Him to the hospital after he passes out.

Tannehill was a revelation last year for the Titans. He was incredibly efficient and set a bunch of career highs. Will we see a better version in 2020? Totally possible. This offense is setup to give a QB success. Tanny should capitalize on the skill around him and provide excellent QB play as your QB2. He is a borderline QB1 this year, although without the ceiling of other QB1s.

For Woodside, I suspect the Titans would rather not know what they have with him.

RB:

Good luck solo tackling this monster

Derrick Henry: Rushing: 297-1487-13 TD: 3 FMBL
Receiving: 33 targets, 25 catches, 257 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 261.4 (3)
0.5 PPR: 273.9 (4)
1 PPR: 286.4 (6)

Darrynton Evans: Rushing: 88-419-2 TD
Receiving: 36 targets, 27 catches, 174 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 77.3 (54)
0.5 PPR: 90.8 (52)
1 PPR: 104.3 (51)

Derrick Henry is a freaking monster. Even the Greek Titans would be afraid of him. When he gets going, it takes more than one person to bring him down. The reigning rushing champ averaged 5.1 yards per carry in 2019. I see no reason why he does worse. This offense is going to be difficult to deal with, and it starts with Henry.

Evans is going to be a huge upgrade over Dion Lewis in 2020. The rookie is explosive, and when Henry needs spelling, Evans will be ready with an extensive vocabulary. Henry will limit his touches, but Evans instantly gains a ton of value if Henry goes down.

WR:

The A.J. Brown breakout is still happening. Seriously. Draft this dude

A.J. Brown: Rushing: 5-72-1 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 121 targets, 79 catches, 1,346 Yds, 10 TD
Standard: 206.8 (2)
0.5 PPR: 246.3 (3)
1 PPR: 285.8 (3)

Corey Davis: Receiving: 85 targets, 55 catches, 646 Yds, 4 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 87.6 (59)
0.5 PPR: 115.1 (58)
1 PPR: 142.6 (57)

Adam Humphries: Receiving: 67 targets, 51 catches, 460 Yds, 2 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 57 (86)
0.5 PPR: 82.5 (78)
1 PPR: 108 (72)

Kalif Raymond: Receiving: 23 targets, 12 catches, 141 Yds
Standard: 14.1 (138)
0.5 PPR: 20.1 (136)
1 PPR: 26.1 (132)

Rashard Davis: Receiving: 9 targets, 4 catches, 34 Yds
Standard: 3.4 (166)
0.5 PPR: 5.4 (165)
1 PPR: 7.4 (163)

Listen. Seriously. AJB is a monster. He is way better than anyone is telling you. AJB led the entire NFL in yards per touch in 2019. He has a solid chance to repeat that in 2020. He is going to see a target increase, and what he does with that is going to be magic. Trust me, don’t let this guy slip by you. He is a league winner.

Corey Davis has been underwhelming for the Titans. However, Brown and Henry are going to keep defenses focused on them, so I can see Davis being relevant in fantasy this year. Don’t expect the moon, but he might get you moon rock. I will look at him at the right price.

Humphries is gonna get some targets in the slot. However, outside PPR formats, Humphries is not on my radar. Even in those PPR formats, he is only useful as a bye week filler. Brown is going to own this receiving corps.

Leave the others alone. Just get AJB for goodness sake!

TE:

Jonnu Smith is finally the TE1 for the Titans. He is gonna have a good year.

Jonnu Smith: Rushing: 4-51
Receiving: 64 targets, 45 catches, 549 Yds, 5 TD
Standard: 90 (14)
0.5 PPR: 112.5 (15)
1 PPR: 135 (16)

Anthony Firkser: Receiving: 38 targets, 23 catches, 229 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 34.9 (44)
0.5 PPR: 46.4 (44)
1 PPR: 57.9 (44)

MyCole Pruitt: Receiving: 13 targets, 9 catches, 103 Yds
Standard: 10.3 (70)
0.5 PPR: 14.8 (68)
1 PPR: 19.3 (67)

Jonnu Smith should have a bit of a breakout campaign in 2020. This is his first year as the top TE for the Titans. He is incredibly athletic. He is a TE that gets rushes, that should tell you something. I love Jonnu as my second TE, and think he has serious TE1 upside. This dude is a primo athlete. I want exposure.

I project the Titans scoring 1,286.86 points in a 0.5 PPR format. That is good for 14th. However, Henry and AJB are freaking elite targets for me. I want them both. Folks, listen to me. Both of these guys are going to produce ridiculous numbers. Their floors are so high, and their ceilings are higher, in every format. Thank me in your championship speech.

How does all that sound to you? Before you start ranting at me about how I am too high on A.J. Brown, let me stop you. You are wrong. You just aren’t high enough! Thanks for the read.
