Ryder Bowl Mock: Ryans Dynasty

Belly Up Fantasy Sports continues their Mock Draft Mania with a very special Mock Draft. A dynasty mock dedicated the the first annual Ryder Bowl. EU vs US. Dynasty. 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 3 FLX, 1 SFLX. We did 3 bench for time constraints, but more bench will be available in the actual Ryder Bowl. I have pick 11 in the real deal, but today, I wanted to look at pick 8. Let’s see what we got. Check out the stream!

1.8 Tyreek Hill
2.5 Miles Sanders
3.8 Juju Smith-Schuster
4.5 Daniel Jones
5.8 Cam Akers
6.5 Matthew Stafford
7.8 DeVante Parker
8.5 Mike Gesicki
9.8 James Conner
10.5 James White
11.8 Justin Herbert
12.5 Jonnu Smith
13.8 Mike Williams
14.5 Dawson Knox

QB

4.5 Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones is someone I am very high on coming into 2020. I reached for him, but in dynasty, I have him ranked ridiculously high. He averaged 2 TDs a game in his rookie season, and flashed the type of upside I look for in young QBs. His line will be better, Saquon will be healthy, and all signs point to Danny Dimes improving on a solid rookie season this year, and for years to come.

6.5 Matthew Stafford

Stafford was outrageous in the eight games he played in 2019, and he is entering his age 32 season. Before last year, he had not missed a game in eight years. His passing yards are always elite, and he will force me to consider starting him on a weekly basis. I loved the value here considering QB in dynasty is incredibly important.

11.8 Justin Herbert

Herbert may not start week 1, but he will be playing in 2020, and this pick was about the future. QB, as I stated before, is a prime position in dynasty, and I did not want to be QB poor in the future. Herbert gives me three starting QBs moving forward, a position I am happy to be in. Worst-case scenario, he is trade bait later on.

RB

2.5 Miles Sanders

Miles Sanders is worth a lot in redraft formats, and even more in dynasty. He will be a featured back in 2020 and that shouldn’t change moving forward. His future upside is elite. His current upside is elite. Sign me up for a back with this many touches at his age all day. He is a foundational building block for any dynasty team and makes me feel ok about skipping RB in round 1.

5.8 Cam Akers

High upside RB on a team that has produced elite RB numbers every year? Yes, please. Akers projects to be the lead back in a committee, but I suspect he wins the job outright as the bellcow, and rewards me for picking him as the season progresses. He averaged 5 yards per carry and scored 14 TDs for an FSU team that was frankly not good, especially the offensive line. He could be in line for a huge year. But he is definitely in line for a heck of a career.

9.8 James Conner

This is a risky pick, because of Conner’s injury history, but his upside is immense. In 2018 with a healthy Big Ben, he scored 12 TDs in 13 games, and health is the only issue I have with him. I am trusting his health holds long enough for me to capitalize on his talent. I am a bit nervous, but not enough to pass him late in round 9.

10.5 James White

In case you weren’t aware, this is a full point PPR league. James White is gonna catch a whole lot of balls this year. Cam loves throwing to backs. White has a catch rate of over 80 percent. He should see a boatload of targets this year, and gives me the RB depth I need to round out my roster. In any PPR format, White has excellent value.

WR

1.8 Tyreek Hill

I could not pass up this kind of talent at the 8th pick. Hill is the clear WR1 in the best offense in the league, and covering him is an exercise in futility. He will see the most targets of any Chiefs WR, and what he does with those targets is special. He also will contribute on the ground. I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to snag the half a billion-dollar man’s WR1.

3.8 JuJu Smith-Schuster

Get ready folks. JuJu is back. Because Ben is back. This time last year, JuJu would have never made it past round two. I snagged him late in round 3. He had 166 targets and 111 catches last time he played with Ben. I expect more of the same. And he is 24 this year. Sounds delicious to my dynasty instincts.

7.8 DeVante Parker

I am a truther for DeVante. 128 targets, 9 TDs, 1,202 yards in 2019. He is a 27-year-old WR1 for Miami. I am happy as can be landing him here. I know we had to wait a couple of years, but the Parker we thought we would see has finally arrived. 2020 will be a beautiful continuation of the beast we saw late in 2019.

13,8 Mike Williams

Ok, let me be frank here, this is definitely a hot take. Mike Williams is better than Keenan Allen. Yep, I said it. And I meant it. He has the kind of upside you rarely see in round 13. At 26, with a double-digit TD season and a 1,000-yard season already in the books, round 13 is ridiculous for this uber-talented WR who averaged 20.4 YPC in 2019. The low TD total of 2019 is a fluke. Expect great things from this physical specimen this year, and every year from here on out.

TE

8.5 Mike Gesicki

For anyone who just started reading my stuff, let me shout this from the rooftops. Mike Gesicki is a superstar in 2020. Yes, top 5 TE. In dynasty, he is higher than that. He has all the tools you look for, the big-play capabilities you dream of, and an offense that should slot him in as the second-best pass-catcher, behind my man, DeVante Parker. Knox had 5 TDs last year. He is 25. This team is young, and I just gave them a young TE to grow with.

12.5 Jonnu Smith

Jonnu Smith enters his age 25 season as the TE1 for the first time in his career. He has averaged over 12 YPC the last two years, but he has suffered from a lack of targets. That won’t be an issue in 2020. Look for Jonnu to flirt with top 10 TE status, and his future upside is huge with Tannehill and Henry locked down long-term, and AJ Brown drawing defensive attention in the secondary.

14.5 Dawson Knox

Listen closely. This 24-year-old second-year TE can straight up play football. He had 13.9 YPC on relatively limited targets with a QB who is still developing as a passer. He flashed big-play potential multiple times last year, and due to his upside and our limited draft slots, I found myself unable to allow him to not be on my mock team. But in dynasty, I look at him as a top 15 TE with an even higher upside. His QB looks to be improving yearly, and this will only result in better opportunities for Knox in the future.
