Super Bowl 55 Betting Guide

Looking to bet on the Super Bowl? Let’s be honest who isn’t? Belly Up’s favorite 2 Drunk Brothers have your FULL BLOWN betting guide from the game, player & game props, the coin toss, halftime show, & much more. Basically, if you can bet on it, we’ve analyzed it. First, let’s start with the game itself.

Kansas City (-3) vs. Tampa Bay – O/U 56

We feel like everyone is leaning the Chiefs here, and as a matter of fact Vegas confirms that. Per Yahoo Sports, 60% of bets are on KC. However, 53% of the money is on Tampa Bay as sharp bettors are starting to flood the ticket gates with Bucs bets. Travis pointed out a BIG time stat on our podcast a few weeks ago. No team has EVER won the Super Bowl with a losing ATS record. The Chiefs record ATS this year (including the playoffs)? 8-10. With that stat along here are our plays for the game:

Bucs +3 – 2 units (buying a half point may be safe here)
Bucs ML (+140) – 1 unit

Also, if you’re rooting for points, then this one may be a fun one too as the over has hit in 54% of these team’s combined games this year. Not a ground breaking stat, but that’s how we are leaning placing 1 unit on the over of 56.

We also have a few plays on the 1st and 2nd quarter that we dive into on our podcast this week, which you can check out on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Player Props We LOVE

There are a handful of props we absolutely love and there are a few others that are value plays if you want to root for something crazy. Here are the ones we are staking a large portion of our bankroll on Sunday:

1) Mike Evans o65.5 receiving yards

Before you jump down our throats and tell us he’s been less than stellar the last two games, just take a look at what he did in the Wild Card round against Washington. He went for 119 yards on 10 targets. In 2 games vs. KC, Evans averages 11 targets, 4.5 receptions, and 77.5 yards. Numbers don’t lie.

2) Clyde Edwards-Helaire o30.5 rush yards

If CEH can get 10+ carries then this should be a near lock. In every game where he had 10+ carries this year he had 30+ rushing yards. The lowest was 32 yards in Week 14 @ Miami. This all depends on the usage of Bell and Williams. With CEH getting 2 weeks to recover from a nagging injury after only getting 6 attempts in the AFC Championship game I can see KC going back to their stud rookie RB.

3) Leonard Fournette o47.5 rush yards

Fournette has taken over as the bell cow RB in the Bucs system during the playoffs. Ronald Jones is having ball security issues, and is still getting carries despite that. However, Fournette is doing more with his carries. He’s had 19, 17, and 12 attempts in the 3 playoff games and the lowest YPC he had was against New Orleans (3.71 YPC). Much like CEH, if Fournette gets the volume he’s been getting then this should be a lock, even if Jones gets his fair share of touches.

4) Mecole Hardman o0.5 rush attempts & anytime TD scorer (+225)

We saw the Chiefs get Hardman involved in the run game in the AFC Championship game and that run attempt went for 50+ yards. We can see the Bucs defense honing in on Hill and Kelce (as they should), but that plays into Hardman’s favor as Andy Reid most definitely has a sneaky play call to get him in space. Also, Hill and Kelce can’t score all the TDs, so the TD play for Hardman is value. They use him a lot on tunnel screens inside the 5 yard line.

5) Kelce u8.5 receptions & anytime TD scorer (-175)

Not a lot of value in the Kelce TD play, but we have ridden it all playoffs and we aren’t stopping now. For the under on receptions you may be thinking, doesn’t that go against your anytime TD prop? Not really. TE’s can have a very good game (6-7 catches, 100+ yards, & a TD). We see Kelce having a stat line like that. Kelce has only had 9+ receptions 3 times this year and this feels inflated because of the 13 catches he had in the AFC Championship game. The Bucs LB corps is MUCH better than the Bills and I think they limit his catches.

We have TONS of other Super Bowl props that we go over this week’s podcast so check it out to hear more. Also, we were 11-1 on player props on Championship Sunday, so you might want to give it a listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

National Anthem, Halftime Show, and Other Fun Props

For those of you who don’t know, the over/under on the national anthem before the Super Bowl was taken down at most sports books this morning after this Instagram post from Barstool Sports. A spectator outside of Raymond James Stadium recorded what appeared to be an Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan rehearsing for the performance. The the time on his stopwatch read 2 minutes and 13 seconds, with the over/under was set at 1 minute and 59 seconds. So if you got that over in before it was taken down you should be in good shape. Here are some other fun props that your wife, girlfriend, or finance can get it on:

  • How many times will the Patriots be mentioned on the broadcast – o2 (-200)
  • How many times will Biden be mentioned on the broadcast – o1 (+300)
  • How many times will Roger Goodell be shown – 01.5 (-105)
  • How many times will the chains be used for measurement – o1.5 (+120)
  • What will happen to the price of Bitcoin during the game? – Goes down (+115)
  • Color of Gatorade dumped on winning coach? – Red (+175) or Lime/Green/Yellow (+333)
  • Songs performed by The Weeknd during the halftime show – o8 (-300)
