TE Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 5

Week 5 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst TE Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: Taysom Hill 34.08 FP

9 Carries, 112 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing TDs, 22 Passing Yards, 1 Passing TD (Projected: 5.37 FP)

Taysom Hill could not be stopped on offense

Taysom Hill did it all in the Saints’ win over the Seahawks in Week 5. With all the injuries in New Orleans, Taysom stepped up and took over. He had nine carries for 112 rushing yards and three rushing TDs. He also came in and threw a 22-yard TD pass. Taysom has sneaky potential as a TE in fantasy football with his ability to run and play QB.

Silver DAWG: Travis Kelce 33.50 FP

7 Receptions, 25 Receiving Yards, 4 Receiving TDs (Projected: 18.10 FP)

Kelce and Mahomes are all smiles after their win against the Raiders

Travis Kelce was unstoppable in the red zone in their 30-29 win over the Raiders. Kelce became the first Chiefs’ TE to score four TDs in one game. What makes this performance amazing is that he only had 25 receiving yards this game. Congratulations to all Kelce fantasy owners if you had him on the last day of the week.

Bronze DAWG: Hayden Hurst 17.30 FP

6 Receptions, 53 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD (Projected: 8.61 FP)

Hayden Hurst dived in for a TD

Hayden Hurst played his best game as a Bengal when he caught six passes for 53 yards and a TD. He has been a consistent weapon for Joe Burrow and can be relied upon in the passing game. Look for another solid game from him next week, especially if Tee Higgins can’t play.

Golden FRAUD: T.J. Hockenson 1.60 FP

T.J. Hockenson was shut down in the loss against the Patriots

T.J. Hockenson was ineffective against the Patriots in the Lions’ Week 5 loss. The Pats’ defense did a good job shutting down the underneath routes and made life miserable for the Lions’ offense. Detroit has a bye in Week 6, so we can look for a bounce-back game when they play the Cowboys.

Silver FRAUD: Gerald Everett 1.20 FP

1 Reception, 2 Receiving Yards (Projected: 10.09 FP)

Gerald Everett in practice because he didn’t have much action against the Browns

Gerald Everett was non-existent in the Chargers’ win against the Browns. The Chargers RBs were difficult to stop, so they were the focus of the offense. With Keenan Allen coming back soon, it might be difficult for Gerald Everett to be a reliable TE in fantasy football.

Bronze FRAUD: Mike Gesicki 4 FP

1 Reception, 30 Receiving Yards (Projected: 7.48 FP)

Mike Gesicki hopes to have a better game in Week 6

Mike Gesicki was limited to a reception for 30 yards in the Dolphins’ loss to the Jets. Gesicki was working with his third QB in Skylar Thompson, after Teddy Bridgewater was ruled out with a concussion. It will be difficult to gauge Gesicki, especially with the health of QBs in Miami in question.
