Week 16 QB Streamer

Here’s my Week 16 QB streamer article. If you want a recap of the idea behind QB streamers, you can check out my first article here. Most leagues are in the playoffs now. I would assume most teams have their starting QBs figured out. But I will continue putting out these articles in case anyone needs help with finding depth at the position.

Last week, my Week 15 QB streamer was Tua Tagovailoa who wasn’t great for fantasy with 13.74 fantasy points. He finished the week as QB16. But anyone who lived through Week 15 knows it’s been a crazy first-round of playoffs for most leagues. Let’s see who my streamer is this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 16 QB Streamer
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA – DECEMBER 21: The San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle (85) is mobbed by teammates Ross Dwelley (82) Kendrick Bourne (84) and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (10) after his fourth quarter touchdown reception against the Los Angeles Rams at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2019. The 49ers are fighting hard for a playoff spot. Jimmy Garoppolo has had Trey Lance over his shoulder all year but has been good enough (and healthy enough) to keep his job. With Deebo and Kittle helping as YAC monsters, Jimmy G should be a safe bet with an okay ceiling. He will also be playing the rest of the season for his NFL career. Lance will almost definitely take the starting role next year, meaning Jimmy is going to hope to find a starting spot with another team in 2022.

Wrap-Up

Maybe you drafted a QB later and are worried about your QB’s matchup this week. In that case, the 49ers QB could be a player to look at for a Week 16 QB streamer option for this week and beyond. Hopefully, you don’t need to stream, but with all the COVID-19 news, I am sure the waiver wire will be busy this week. The 49ers quarterback may not be an exciting start, but he should be available in most leagues and should be a decent fill-in to help your team.
