Week 3 of the NFL season is upon us, and some fantasy managers may be looking for a change in their lineup. Whether you are dealing with injuries or your breakout pick of Darnell Mooney has been an abolsute bust, there is always a solution. Check out this week’s top streamers and sleepers for the NFL Week 3!
Jared Goff – Detroit Lions QB
The Lions QB has quietly been having a solid, efficient season for the Lions. Most of his success has been overshadowed by Amon-Ra St. Brown, but through two games Goff has 471 yards, 6 TD, and only 1 INT. The Vikings are allowing 275 yards a game but only 1 passing TD so far. Goff has the potential to surpass 300 yards this weekend and could be a nice, low risk, fill in, for an injured quarterback. He could also be used in Superflex leagues since he has more potential than the other QB2 options available.
Ashton Dulin – Indianapolis Colts WR
The Colts receiver has been flying under the radar to start the season, likely because the Colts have been terrible. Dulin isn’t the flashiest sleeper pick, but through two weeks he has been consistent. He was targeted 6 times in Week One and 7 times in Week Two, totaling 8 receptions for 125 yards. He has become the true number 2 wideout for the Colts after Michael Pittman, and has well outpaced Parris Campbell and rookie Alec Pierce. Dulin should be viewed as a flex option in deeper leagues, but if Pittman doesn’t play again, he could be elevated to a WR3.
Rhamondre Stevenson– New England Patriots RB
The Patriots running back has been shaky to start the season, but the usage is present which could lead to some big weeks coming up. Even though Stevenson is listed as the Patriots back up, he has out-snapped Damien Harris 56-49. He even surpassed Harris by 15 plays in Week Two. Stevenson should also get more work in the receiving game since Ty Montgomery is out. The breakout is coming for Stevenson, and in Week 3 he should be used as a flex in standard leagues and RB2 in PPR leagues.
Logan Thomas – Washington Commanders TE
There aren’t many valuable tight ends in fantasy outside of the likes of Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, and Mark Andrews. However, Logan Thomas has always contributed in a big way to the Washington offense when he’s healthy. Thomas has been targeted 11 times through 2 games which includes a touchdown in Week Two. The Commanders play the Eagles in Week Two who have allowed 18 targets, 11 receptions and a TD to tight ends this season. Also, in his last two games against the Eagles, Thomas is averaging 3.5 catches, 37 yards and a TD. The numbers won’t blow you away, but Thomas is a much better option than some other fantasy tight ends and is likely still sitting on your waiver wire as he is only rostered in under 40% of ESPN leagues.
Chris Olave – New Orleans Saints WR
The rookie from Ohio State is about to pop. He leads the Saints in snap count and routes run. Olave did have a quality game in Week Two, catching 5 balls on 13 targets for 80 yards. He trails Michael Thomas by 1 target (17 to 16) and one yard (122 to 121) for the Saints lead. The Olave 100 yard game and first touchdown are coming and I believe it will be this weekend against the Panthers.
Russell Gage – Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR
The Bucs are thin at wide receiver which makes Russell Gage a viable option for this weekend. Mike Evans is suspended, while Chris Godwin and Julio Jones are trending in the wrong direction to play. Tom Brady will need to rely on Gage as his primary target against the Packers. Gage filled the role of WR1 last year in Atlanta after Calvin Ridley was suspended, finishing with over 90 yards in 3 of the last 6 games of the season. Gage won’t be a season long answer, but is a solid Week Three streamer.
Richie James – New York Giants WR
Somehow, Richie James continues to show up on the weekly sleeper list. The Giants wide receiver has been consistent in the first two weeks. He has nearly identical games of 5 receptions on 6 targets for 51 and 59 yards. He has been filling in well for Wan’Dale Robinson and has become the number two option behind Sterling Shepard. James will be involved again this week since Kadarius Toney has a nagging injury and Kenny Golladay is all but gone from the Big Apple. James is also rostered in under 1% of standard and PPR leagues. If you find yourself in a pinch late Sunday morning, James should be available.
Equanimeous St. Brown – Chicago Bears WR
The Bears passing game stinks, there is no doubt about that, but St. Brown somehow has been producing. St. Brown only has 57 yards on the season, accounting for roughly 30% of all passing yards for Justin Fields. He is also leading the Bears in targets, and is one of only two Bear wide receivers with a touchdown. St. Brown won’t produce like his brother, but Fields seemingly has liked him more than Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet. He isn’t reliable enough yet in 10 or 12 man leagues, but could be valuable in deeper fantasy leagues.
