Week 9 – Start or Sit?

Great Week Ahead

Week 9 is coming up fast and it’s time to set your lineups. Who are you going to start and who are you going to sit? I’m going to answer the questions that you’ve been asking on our TikTok page. Good luck this week.

Should I Start C.J. Stroud Or Sam Howell?

Sam Howell had a great game against the Eagles during Week 8, throwing for 39 completions and 4 touchdowns. Meanwhile, C.J. Stroud has calmed down a bit over the last month, not surpassing 20 points since Week 4. Regarding their matchups, Howell has the hardest one, with a date against the Patriots. They gave star quarterback Jalen Hurts a tough time, and if it’s one thing Bill Belichick knows how to do it’s take away the opponent’s biggest weapon. In this case, that is Sam Howell. He’s been getting sacked a ton and I would predict this trend to continue against New England. Start C.J. Stroud and sit Sam Howell.

Who Do I Sit on My Bench? Breece Hall or Saquon Barkley?

Your team must be stacked if you’re dealing with this start-sit controversy. One thing I’ll say before diving into this question is I would look to trade one of them to fill any holes in your lineup. Barkley has had some insane volume recently, averaging 27 carries in the last 3 weeks and leading the league in carries per game at 22. He’s also being used in the passing game a fair amount, averaging four receptions a game. Saquon is a consistent running back with a high floor, but he does not score touchdowns. He goes against the putrid Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9.

Breece Hall will have a positive matchup against the Chargers defense. He does not get the volume like Saquon does, but he does have a higher ceiling. Hall has been a top-10 running back throughout his last 3 games. This is a tough one. Start Breece Hall If you’re projected to lose by a lot. Pray for a miracle. If you’re in a PPR league, start Breece Hall. Start Saquon If you’re in a standard league or if you’re projected to win and just need everyone to reach their projection. You can tell I’m just as stumped as you are on this one.

Should I Start Adam Thielen and Sit D.J Moore?

The answer to this is yes. And I’ll tell you why: D.J. Moore, although the WR7, still does not have his starting quarterback throwing the ball. This has been a clear issue as he hasn’t reached a 15-point game or better since his stellar 51-point massacre against the Commanders. Thielen has a date against the positive matchup against the Colts and he and Bryce Young have been connecting like crazy this year. Thielen has the sixth most receptions out of all wide receivers and I don’t see that stopping for Week 9. Your gut is correct in choosing to start Thielen and sit D.J. Moore.
