After seeing Tyson Fury on iFL TV spouting off about how he’s stopped training (for the time being) in addition to drinking “12 pints a day” while on vacation, all I can think is, “Will Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury ever happen?”
Fury has also stated that he has stopped training. The last time he did that, he ended up looking like he was auditioning for My 600-Lb. Life.
I wish I didn’t care. I wish I could turn away from a division that has been accumulating cobwebs since Wladimir Klitschko retired in 2017. Hell, even then, it wasn’t nearly enjoyable to watch as welterweight or middleweight. The heyday of the heavyweight division is, for now, dead.
Despite that, if the right two fighters managed to find themselves in the same ring, say Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury? That would sell quite a few PPVs.
Both promoters claim to be right there as far as contract negotiations go. Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, went as far as to say the fight and its details agreed. All that is left to do, according to Hearn, is for Fury and his team to sign.

Then we have Tyson Fury’s promoter, Bob Arum, quoted as saying (about impatient fans), “You know what I say? Go f**k yourself. Find a life. That’s what I would say to them.”
Thanks, Bob.
So, after all that I’m left wondering, “Will Joshua vs. Fury ever happen?”
*Update*
As it turns out, I should have listened to old man Bob.
ESPN is reporting that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed a two-fight deal to unify the heavyweight titles. The plan is for both fights to take place in 2021.
