WR Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 5

Week 5 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst WR Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: Dyami Brown 24.50 FP

2 Receptions, 105 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 3.98 FP)

Dyami Brown caught his first two TDs against the Titans

Dyami Brown had the best game of his young career when he torched the Titans for 105 yards and two TDs. With Jahan Dotson out with a hamstring injury, Dyami stepped up and was the biggest shocker for fantasy owners this week. Currently, he is questionable with a groin injury but if he plays, maybe he can expect a rise in snaps.

Silver DAWG: Gabriel Davis 32.10 FP

3 Receptions, 171 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 13.55 FP)

Gabriel Davis had a Randy Moss-esque game

Gabriel Davis looked like Randy Moss in the Buffalo win over the Steelers. In three catches, Davis got 171 receiving yards and two TDs. He connected on 98 and 62-yard TDs with Josh Allen. The Bills will face the Chiefs in Week 6 and the last time they played, Gabriel Davis had eight catches for 201 yards and four TDs.

Bronze DAWG: Tyler Lockett 27.40 FP

5 Receptions, 104 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 11.18 FP)

Tyler Lockett and Geno Smith have looked good together

Tyler Lockett played his best game of the year so far in the Seahawks’ 39-32 loss to the Saints. Lockett connected for five catches with 104 yards and two TDs. His TDs came from long passes for 35 and 40-yard bombs. Even if he only caught his first TDs of the year in this game, he has been consistent throughout the year.

Golden FRAUD: Christian Kirk 2.10 FP

1 Reception, 11 Receiving Yards (Projected: 15.76 FP)

Christian Kirk hopes to bounce back soon

Christian Kirk had his second bad game in a row when he only caught one pass for 11 yards. Kirk was a surprise WR to start the year and helped the Jaguars with their hot start. He faces the Colts in Week 6 and hopes he can bounce back and lead them to a victory.

Silver FRAUD: Jaylen Waddle 5.30 FP

3 Receptions, 23 Receiving Yards (Projected: 15.56 FP)

The Jets did their own “Waddle” in the endzone

Jaylen Waddle had his second straight off-game this year when he caught three balls for 23 yards. It hurts that Tua Tagovailoa is still out due to concussion protocol as he relied mainly on Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It will be hard to determine how Waddle will play with Skylar Thompson as the QB against the Vikings.

Bronze FRAUD: Amon-Ra St. Brown 5.80 FP

4 Receptions, 18 Receiving Yards (Projected: 16 FP)

Amon-Ra St. Brown played through against the Patriots even with a sprained ankle. He only played 32% of the snaps so he wasn’t fully healthy. He had 18 yards on four catches and the Lions’ offense was shut-down by the Patriots. We expect him to be better against the Cowboys in Week 7. Detroit has a bye in Week 6.
