Week 6 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst WR Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.
Golden DAWG: Brandon Aiyuk 28.30 FP
8 Receptions, 83 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 10.69 FP)
Brandon Aiyuk’s best performance of the season was the 49ers’ loss to the Falcons. He had eight receptions for 83 yards and two TDs. These TDs served to be the only scores for the 49ers in the upset loss. He has a date with the Chiefs in Week 7, and let us see if the arrival of Christian McCaffrey will affect his performance.
Silver DAWG: Dante Pettis 18.40 FP
4 Receptions, 84 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD (Projected: 2.14 FP)
Dante Pettis caught the lone TD of the Bears in their 12-7 loss to Washington in Week 6. He caught four passes for 84 yards, including a 40-yard TD that electrified the crowd. It’s difficult to gauge this performance, especially with the Bears’ offense being the worst in the league.
Bronze DAWG: Tyquan Thornton 21.30 FP
4 Receptions, 37 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD, 3 Carries, 16 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 5.90 FP)
Tyquan Thornton stepped up in the Patriots’ blowout win over the Bears. With multiple injuries to the WR core, Tyquan scored his first NFL TD with a two-yard catch in the third quarter and added a 19-yard rushing TD in the fourth. His status as WR in fantasy is dependent on injuries on the receivers ahead of him.
Golden FRAUD: Mike Williams 3.70 FP
2 Receptions, 17 Receiving Yards (Projected: 16.41 FP)
Mike Williams had a disappointing game against the Broncos when he caught two passes for 17 yards. He was covered the entire game by Patrick Surtain, and Justin Herbert seemed only to throw short passes to the RBs. Look for him to bounce back against the Seahawks in Week 7.
Silver FRAUD: Courtland Sutton 3.40 FP
2 Receptions, 14 Receiving Yards (Projected: 15.06 FP)
Courtland Sutton had his worst game of the year against the Chargers. He caught two of his three targets for just 14 yards. Russell Wilson looked horrible this game, and this affected Sutton’s performance, especially as one of the more reliable WR in fantasy. Sutton will have a tough assignment in Week 7 against Sauce Gardner and the Jets.
Bronze FRAUD: Tyler Lockett 3.70 FP
2 Receptions, 17 Receiving Yards (Projected: 14.26 FP)
Tyler Lockett fell back to earth in the Seahawks’ win over the Cardinals. Geno Smith only threw for 197 yards and no TDs. This is because of the excellent job being done by the Cardinals’ defense on him. Seattle then focused the game through Kenneth Walker III. Be on the lookout for Lockett’s availability, as he currently has hamstring issues.
