Casanova’s Corner – XFL

I will be doing this segment from here on out. This is a conversation between me and you about those things I love in sports. It may be teams I love and picks for the week in NBA or XFL. I may love a situation that is taking place in sports, such as a trade or move. We will go from Vegas lines to a big game and we may even venture behind the closed doors of the locker room. Let’s get started before today’s games in the XFL.

What Vegas Thinks and What I Love

Let’s start with a classic New York vs LA match up. According to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook the Los Angeles Wildcats (-7) at New York Guardians. Last week the Wildcats put a hurt on D.C 39-8 as an eight and half underdog. While the Guardians got stomped 29-9 by St. Louis even being a 10 point dog.

What I Love is this. L.A put on an offensive display last week that looks as though they may have found something. Josh Johnson completed 18 of 25 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns, but the Wildcats won all phases of the game. N.Y not so much. L.A will cover that spread with points to spare. You gotta love it.

Seattle Dragons at St. Louis BattleHawks (-12) I’m not saying this one but last week the BattleHawks put on an offensive display with a 29-9 victory over N.Y. Let’s face it on the other side Seattle just can’t get it done. It is not that they are bad but things just have not gone their way. Brandon Silvers, the Dragons QB is not bad. He is a very good passer with 512 yards and six touchdowns on the year.

What I love about this. All that I said about Seattle is true but man can St. Louis play. At home, This should be a game that the Battlehawks take care of business and I expect a big game out of Matt Jones and
Jordan Ta’Amu as St. Louis puts up enough at home to cover. You must love this and the money. My XFL picks

Sunday’s XFL Picks

The Sunday games start off with what could be the best of the week, Houston Roughnecks (-1) at Dallas Renegades. Although Dallas has improved over the last two weeks, the question is, how good can Landry be? Coming off an injury if he is feeling himself you never know. But I have witnessed the show that Walker and Phillips can put on live, at times they look like they are playing pitch and catch.

What do I love in this one? I see two teams that seem to be evenly matched. Yes, Walker has been magnificent but can it ride this long? Dallas has been improving and a big game at home with a chance to tie for the lead in the division. At only one point here I take that point and go with the Renegades.

The last game of the weekend puts DC Defenders (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Vipers. The Vipers caught fire on offense last week and they held their own at home against Houston. D.C may be a good team and Jones may be a great QB, but the Vipers are at home and have something to prove this week. With the departure of Flowers, the Vipers need to get a win for the home town.

What I love here is the Vipers. I know I may be in a minority here but if the offense can do what they did last week and the defense can do just a little more than they did, they pull this out. My upset is taking the points and take the money, I love it! My XFL picks
