Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys Projections

How about them Cowboys? No more Garrett, so what does that mean for the Cowboys? Jerry Jones specifically, I am worried about him. In case you missed it, last time we covered the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, let’s take a private jet to Jerry’s draft Yacht, so we can get the real info on how the 2020 season is going to go.

QB:

Dak is gonna make fantasy owners happy. Will Jerry make Dak happy? Not if happy means 40 mil a year.

Dak Prescott: Passing: 374/568-4.540 Yds, 30 TD: 10 INT
Rushing: 53-275-5 TD: 7 FMBL
Standard: 342.1 (4)
0.5 PPR: 342.1 (4)
1 PPR: 342.1 (4)

Andy Dalton: Passing: things into Daks food so he can start.
Rushing: to get an alibi when he is caught.

Dak is an elite fantasy QB, full stop. He was prolific in 2019, and he added Lamb in 2020. This offense is gonna be fantastic once again. Dak has never thrown for less than a 62.9% completion rate, averages over 5 TDs and over 300 yards on the ground his first four years, and will be 27 this year. He is really good. He is as safe a pick as any as your QB1, he has yet to miss a game, and I have him as my QB4 overall. Feel free to target him and then forget about your QB for the rest of the year.

Dalton is just waiting in the wings. He is worth nothing unless Dak goes down. If Dak goes down, you better be first on the waiver wire, because Dalton is going to be a stud in this offense. I like snagging Dalton late if you get Dak early because I believe Dalton could put up numbers close enough to Dak’s to make it a worthy late investment. The Cowboys are a team so loaded, that any QB could see some success here.

RB:

Ezekiel Elliot likes to eat. I just hope he doesn’t show up to camp overweight. Or faded…

Ezekiel Elliott: Rushing: 298-1,364, 11 TD: 3 FMBL
Receiving: 69 targets, 56 catches, 439 Yds, 3 TD
Standard: 261.3 (4)
0.5 PPR: 289.3 (3)
1 PPR: 317.3 (3)

Tony Pollard: Rushing: 91-474-2 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 31 targets, 22 catches, 152 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 79.6 (51)
0.5 PPR: 90.6 (52)
1 PPR: 101.3 (52)

Zeke, another elite player for the Cowboys. He is a top 3 RB in most people’s lists, and his numbers speak for themselves. He averages 125.43 Yds per game and 0 .86 TDs per game for his career. Zeke is a total package at RB. He turns 25 in 2020 so his decline is not imminent. Feel safe snagging him, and watch him work.

Pollard is a pretty solid back in his own right. If Zeke goes down, Pollard instantly vaults near RB1 territory. If Zeke does not, he is a flex option at best with inconsistent weekly performances. However, I will have exposure at the right price. But Zeke likes to eat, so Zeke is gonna eat, and Pollard only gets scraps. Somebody call Campbells and get Pollard a Chunky Soup Gig.

WR:

Cooper is still the gem of this WR corps. These guys are gonna be tough to deal with.

Amari Cooper: Receiving: 122 targets, 81 catches, 1,158 Yds, 8 TD
Standard: 163.8 (12)
0.5 PPR: 204.3 (12)
1 PPR: 244.8 (11)

Michael Gallup: Receiving: 114 targets, 71 catches, 1,058 Yds, 6 TD
Standard: 141.8 (24)
0.5 PPR: 177.3 (25)
1 PPR: 212.8 (26)

CeeDee Lamb: Receiving: 92 targets, 57 catches, 736 Yds, 5 TD: 2 FMBL
Standard: 101.6 (47)
0.5 PPR: 130.1 (48)
1 PPR: 158.6 (49)

Devin Smith: Receiving: 30 targets, 15 catches, 256 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 37.6 (100)
0.5 PPR: 45.1 (103)
1 PPR: 52.6 (106)

Ventell Bryant: Receiving: 9 targets, 4 catches, 39 Yds
Standard: 3.9 (161)
0.5 PPR: 5.9 (160)
1 PPR: 7.9 (160)

Woo! Wow, these three WRs get me going! Cooper is still the king, and he will remain on the lower elite edge. Gallup’s growth may stunt slightly with the addition of Lamb, but not enough to keep him off my targets list. Lamb would have way higher numbers in another offense, but he is still going to be fantasy relevant, and these guys absolutely have three 1,000 yard seasons potential. Smith also intrigues as a streaming option with his field-stretching skills in 4 WR sets.

But get the top three for consistency. All of them are starting material in 3 WR setups, and any of them can win you weeks. In reality, any of these guys could end up as the lead dog in Dallas, but my money is still on Cooper.

Ventell Bryant, not going there. Sorry Ventell, but these guys above you are freaking good, and there’s Zeke, and the guy I will be talking about next.

TE:

Jarwin is happy now, but those three WRs are gonna absorb a whole bunch of targets. Jarwin will still be solid.

Blake Jarwin: Receiving: 70 targets, 52 catches, 581 Yds, 4 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 81.1 (19)
0.5 PPR: 107.1 (17)
1 PPR: 133.1 (17)

Dalton Schultz: Receiving: 31 targets, 16 catches, 131 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 19.1 (60)
0.5 PPR: 27.1 (58)
1 PPR: 35.1 (56)

Jarwin’s ceiling is nerfed by the three WRs he plays with. But Dak will throw a lot, and Jarwin is going to get enough looks to remain relevant. His potential is higher if defenses sell out to stop the WRs, but Zeke stands to benefit more. Jarwin is a low-end starter, high-end backup,

Schultz wont get enough looks to be worth rostering. IF Jarwin goes down, he slots in a bit lower than where Jarwin is now, you are gonna want exposure to this offense period.

I have the Cowboys scoring 1,418.9 points in 0.5 PPR formats, which is third overall. Gimme as much of this team as I can get. Dak, Zeke, Cooper are all elite. Gallup, Lamb, and Jarwin are all targets for me. Even Pollard and Smith have some upside.

How about these Cowboys? Jerrah and co are gonna make all you fantasy owners rich! Should be a good year in Big D. Follow me on Twitter @realryanhicks. Follow Belly Up Fantasy on Twitter for all your sports needs. Next up, we have the Philadelphia Eagles.
