Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 20

Welcome to Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 20! It continues to be an unusual year of fantasy with injuries and scheduled games piling up. The following list of players should help in the short term especially if you are going through said inuries. The Detroit Pistons have a five-game schedule this week, which means two of the players on the list are from them; while the other two players should also help in all around categories. Whether it is your final championship week or another step in the playoffs, good luck to everyone!

As always, do not feel obligated to pick up anyone if you do not have room on your roster. I will be providing weekly waiver wire pickup suggestions that are mainly for nine-category leagues. The picks are based on players being rostered in less than 30-percent of fantasy basketball teams. Here are some waiver wire pickups for week 20.

PG Frank Jackson, DET (ORL, CHA, MEM, @PHI, CHI)

Frank Jackson is slowly becoming a reliable sparkplug off the bench. This is past week Jackson averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 three-pointers made, and 2.0 assists. If you need someone to plugin for any injuries, Frank is a good substitute considering the number of games. He helps mainly in points and three-pointers made. As stated in the beginning, the Pistons play five games this week to maximize the effectiveness of Jackson.

PG Facundo Compazzo, DEN (@LAL, NY, @UTAH, BKN)

The Nuggets were supposed to struggle without Jamal Murray. Instead they are now one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Facundo Compazzo has been extremely serviceable and will continue to be with his ability and understanding of how to play mistake-free basketball. This past week Compazzo had 12.0 points, 6.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 54-percent from the field, and 93-percent from the stripe. If you need help with assists without getting hurt in percentages, Compazzo could help you win your week.

SF Saddiq Bey, DET (ORL, CHA, MEM, @PHI, CHI)

Like Frank Jackson, Saddiq Bey will be playing five games this week. Bey has been serviceable as the starter but has since recently picked up his play because of countless injuries that the Pistons had to deal with. This past week Bey had 17.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.7 three-pointers made, and 3.0 assists. I would look towards Bey first over Jackson considering his potential to provide in more categories. Pick him up if you can.

SF Cedi Osman, CLE (PHX, POR, @DAL, DAL)

Cedi Osman has had the opportunity to produce before to average results. With the Cavaliers out of the playoff picture, The Cavaliers would want to see what they have with Osman. This past week Osman averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and a perfect 100-percent from the stripe in his past 13 attempts. Osman will continue to receive minutes and should provide some all-around value if none of the other players on this list are available. The Cavaliers play four games this week.
