Giants Projection: They aren’t Little

New York’s second team. I like this one way, way more. Sign me up for some serious Giants exposure. In case you missed it, we just covered the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, let’s get excited to talk about Danny Dimes, Saquads, and Eli Manning. Wait, we don’t get to talk about Eli anymore. Time to make an Eli face in memory of, well, Eli’s face.

QB:

Daniel Jones is gonna be a superstar. You are all welcome for the heads up.

Daniel Jones: Passing: 373/576, 4,089 Yds, 29 TD: 10 INT
Rushing: 49-296-2 TD: 9 FMBL
Standard: 302.16 (9)
0.5 PPR: 302.16 (9)
1 PPR: 302.16 (9)

Colt McCoy: Passing: Time, while Jones emerges as a superstar.
Rushing: He is in no hurry. I bet all the rookies are hearing him talk about how good he was in college. Sorry, rookies.

Colt McCoy is probably a really nice dude. I feel bad for poking fun at him. However, I am not here to talk about him. I am here to talk about Danny Dimes. I am all in. Jones will be a top 10 fantasy QB this year, and the Giants are gonna be really tough to deal with offensively. Jones put up prolific per game numbers in 2019, including turnovers. I suspect he cuts those down some, while continuing on his trajectory to stardom. This guy has it.

Jones should be available to you early, as his hype has not quite met what I expect from him. I have crazy exposure to him, and am looking forward to reaping the benefits of that value in 2020. The Giants found their franchise QB to pair with this franchise RB.

RB:

I had to use an upper body picture so you wouldn’t be distracted by his godly quads.

Saquon Barkley: Rushing: 263-1,348-12 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 108 targets, 79 catches, 662 Yds, 4 TD
Standard: 296 (1)
0.5 PPR: 335.5 (1)
1 PPR: 375 (1)

Dion Lewis: Rushing: 29-112
Receiving: 26 targets, 19 catches, 128 Yds
Standard: 24 (82)
0.5 PPR: 33.5 (78)
1 PPR: 43 (76)

Wayne Gallman: Rushing: 31-121-1 TD
Receiving: 14 targets, 8 catches, 79 Yds
Standard: 26 (79)
0.5 PPR: 30 (82)
1 PPR: 34 (83)

Elijhaa Penny: Rushing: 6-23
Receiving: 5 targets, 3 catches, 14 Yds
Standard: 3.7 (104)
0.5 PPR: 5.2 (103)
1 PPR: 6.7 (103)

Saquon. He is the RB1 in 2020, mark my words. Jones enters year two with a better grasp of the offense, the line has improved, and Saquon is healthy. When you think about a complete fantasy back, Saquon is it. The Giants are going to get him the ball. And this year, there will be weapons around him to complement him. If I got pick 1 in every draft, I would have 100 percent exposure to Saquon. He is going to win leagues. Get him.

The only reason you would want any of the others on your roster is if Barkley goes down and the Giants don’t then acquire someone. Gallman seems to have the most upside to me, but none excite me. I will avoid the rest completely, and only consider acquiring if Saquon goes down for a flex play at best.

WR:

Slayton is trending up, in a huge way. He is going to be the WR1. I am all in on him too.

Darius Slayton: Rushing: 4-54, 1 FMBL
Receiving: 103 targets, 63 catches, 983 Yds, 9 TD
Standard: 156.7 (15)
0.5 PPR: 188.2 (17)
1 PPR: 219.7 (20)

Sterling Shepard: Rushing: 5-38, 1 FMBL
Receiving: 91 targets, 57 catches, 651 Yds, 4 TD
Standard: 91.9 (56)
0.5 PPR: 120.4 (53)
1 PPR: 148.9 (51)

Golden Tate: Rushing: 3-16, 1 FMBL
Receiving: 79 targets, 47 catches, 554 Yds, 4 TD
Standard: 80 (62)
0.5 PPR: 103.5 (63)
1 PPR: 127 (63)

Corey Coleman: Receiving: 9 targets, 6 catches, 82 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 14.2 (137)
0.5 PPR: 17.2 (140)
1 PPR: 20.2 (141)

Cody Core: Receiving: 7 targets, 4 catches, 38 Yds
Standard: 3.8 (163)
0.5 PPR: 5.8 (161)
1 PPR: 7.8 (161)

Darius Slayton is going to have a big year. He will be the WR1 there in terms of targets, and he is going to score because that is what he does. Slayton flashed crazy upside in 2019, and he has developed chemistry with Jones. He is going way too low in drafts, and I have been scooping him up as much as possible. The hype for this team is real, and the WR that you want to own is Slayton.

Shepard and Tate will each have a serviceable floor, but their ceilings aren’t special with the talent around them demanding more touches. I am fine acquiring them as bench depth, with Shepard especially offering flex intrigue. But I am reaching for neither, because I believe Slayton takes over.

Coleman interests me as a flier in dynasty. If there are injuries to the WR corps, Coleman could step in and revive his career with the Giants. We remember the potential. In this offense, he just may work his way into getting some looks. But he is a shot in the dark, nothing more. Core is ignorable.

TE:

The talent this guy has is special. His ability to stay on the field, not so much.

Evan Engram: Rushing: 2-19
Receiving: 82 targets, 52 catches, 579 yards, 5 TD
Standard: 89.8 (15)
0.5 PPR: 115.8 (13)
1 PPR: 141.8 (12)

Kaden Smith: Receiving: 49 targets, 33 catches, 298 Yds, 2 TD: 2 FMBL
Standard: 39.8 (38)
0.5 PPR: 56.3 (36)
1 PPR: 72.8 (35)

Levine Toilolo: Receiving: 3 targets, 2 catches, 21 Yds.
Standard: 2.1 (84)
0.5 PPR: 3.1 (84)
1 PPR: 4.1 (84)

Engram is ridiculously talented. My projections are for a moderately healthy year. He could easily outdo them if he plays 16 healthy games, and he could fail to reach them after playing 6. He is the quintessential high risk, high reward type of guy. But if healthy, he is going to thrive in this offense. If you like some risk, Engram could pay huge dividends if healthy. It’s just a huge risk. I have minimal exposure, just because I know what he could be.

Kaden Smith is a very interesting prospect. He was quietly pretty good last year, and if/when Engram goes down, Smith could step into an offense surrounded by studs, and capitalize. I think I have more shares of Smith than Engram. But he doesn’t offer quite the upside, and I get him way way later. But he is intriguing.

Levin Toilolo, I am sorry man. at least you get two catches!

I project the Giants to score 1,316.66 points in 0.5 PPR which ranks 10th. Give me Jones, give me Saquon, and give me Slayton. I want that trifecta all day, every day. These three in dynasty, even better.
