Is Bijan Still the Dynasty RB1?

Pre-draft, I had Bijan Robinson as the dynasty RB1. Many were making fun of the idea of a college RB being ranked anywhere near that high. After getting drafted 8th overall by one of the best rushing teams in the league, that quickly changed. He was nearly unquestionably the dynasty RB1. Bijan was usually ranked above all non-QBs not named Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Halfway through the season, is Bijan still the dynasty RB1?

Upside

In college, Bijan Robinson proved himself an amazing rusher and receiver. We have seen how well-rounded guys like Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley could dominate for fantasy when they get such heavy workloads. Combining the numbers of a good RB with a good WR into one player leads to a distinct positional advantage. Later, at the NFL level, he showed explosiveness, good route running, great hands, and strength. He was the RB8 for the first 6 weeks, scoring between 11.00 and 23.1 fantasy points each game.

Concerns

Since his hot start, he’s been an RB3. His rushing attempts have been inconstitent. More concerning is his lack of usage on the goal line. We have seen Arthur Smith be unwilling to give his studs the volume they deserve so I do worry Bijan won’t be able to regularly hit his ceiling. However, he still has enough volume and efficiency to be a locked-in starter.

Wrap-Up

So, is Bijan still the dynasty RB1? I wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking so. However, I wouldn’t say it’s a clear as it was before. Breece Hall is making a strong case for that spot. Travis Etienne is as well. If you’re competing, Christian McCaffrey could even be in consideration. In short, my answer is maybe.
