Patten’s Picks April 22nd

Welcome back to another one of my NBA Best Bets of the day and now going by Patten’s Picks. I hope you all enjoy the name change and are excited to check out my top NBA bets of the day.

Chris Paul over 32.5 Points + Assists

-118 Odds on FanDuel

With Devin Booker out, Chris Paul will be asked to handle more of an offensive workload. In the first two games of the series, Paul has had 40 and 32 P+A. With barely missing his last game, I expect the Suns to have a statement game.

Game 3’s are always impactful when the series is tied and that’s when the Stars show up. CP3 being the biggest star in this game, should further justify his impact of having a big game.

I will say, Chris Paul, is his biggest enemy when not reaching his point line. This is due to being passive or less aggressive in some games. However, the playoffs aren’t a time to lack aggression and Paul hasn’t let down so far.

DeMar DeRozan Over 29.5 Points

-108 Odds on FanDuel

After shooting 6 for 25 in game 1, DeMar had a great bounce-back game scoring 41 points. Tonight, the Bulls will be at home looking to win game 3. If the Bulls stand a chance, it will be from DeRozan.

In DeRozan’s six matchups against the Bucks on the year, he has gone over 30 points in half of those games. While that makes it a 50/50 chance, the bulls have a lot of momentum riding on this game.

DeMar has played over 40 minutes in both games of the series and I expect that again tonight. With increased playing time, comes plenty of volume. Averaging 28 shot attempts on the series, justifies that he has a great chance of getting 30 points.

If the line moves up to 30.5, I’d still take it. DeMar DeRozan with the home crowd is hard to bet against.

Patten’s Picks: Zach LaVine Over 22.5 Points

-110 Odds on FanDuel

I know this is breaking gambling rule 101 by betting on both stars to hit their overs, but hear me out. Zach LaVine has been short of this number in back-to-back games and now the Bucks are without Middleton.

With that being said, Zach will now have responsibilities defending either Wesley Mathews or Grayson Allen. Both of these players get less of a workload in comparison to LaVine’s previous assignments (Middleton and Holliday).

Zach LaVine should be able to conserve his energy for the offensive end. Also, Nikola Vucevic is coming off a great game and might have his struggles repeating. I expect LaVine to compliment DeRozan today and get around 40 minutes.

Recap of Patten’s Picks April 22nd

DeMar DeRozan over 29.5 Points (-108 odds on FanDuel)
