Fantasy Football

Projections: Hail to the Chiefs

Super Bowl Champs. Sounds good doesn’t it? So does half a billion dollars. But Patrick Mahomes is locked into KC for a long, long time. Fantasy football players everywhere are rejoicing. In case you missed it, last time we covered the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, let’s take a trip to fantasy football wonderland, where QBs throw no-look passes, WRs race with cheetahs, and coaches wear awesome shirts. Hail to the Chiefs

QB:

Sometimes I throw like this, sometimes I throw like that.

Patrick Mahomes: Passing:387/581, 5,096 Yds, 44 TD: 10 INT
Rushing: 48-212-1 TD: 8 FMBL
Standard: 389.04 (1)
0.5 PPR: 389.04 (1)
1 PPR: 389.04 (1)

Chad Henne: Passing: Please God no. Seriously, no Chadd Henne in 2020.
Rushing: None of this either. Please, Half a billion dollars is at stake!

Ok, Let’s just skip the formalities. Mahomes is the best fantasy QB playing today. He is special in ways nobody else has been. His bad year is what most QBs hope to have. Do not hesitate to pull the trigger on him in any format, my projections show he is going to be worth it. Mahomes has the talent and weapons to obliterate the record books if he continues his trajectory. The Chiefs are his team, for the foreseeable future. Half a billion dollars does that. He will be 25 this year. He is not done getting better. Think about that. We have likely not seen his best. Enjoy football fans. And fantasy players, enjoy what he does for your team. He is on a different level.

If Chad freaking Henne throws any passes in 2020 that are consequential, Chiefs fans are going to riot. Seriously. We don’t want to see this guy. He can’t even sidearm. Does he even like ketchup, bro?

RB:

Damien is opting out? Let’s celebrate!

Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Rushing: 179-791-5 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 63 targets, 46 catches, 417 Yds, 4 TD
Standard: 173.8 (21)
0.5 PPR: 196.8 (19)
1 PPR: 219.8 (18)

Darwin Thompson: Rushing: 38-140-2 TD
Receiving: 17 targets, 12 catches, 86 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 40.6 (71)
0.5 PPR: 46.6 (71)
1 PPR: 52.6 (70)

DeAndre Washington: Rushing: 30-154-2 TD
Receiving: 27 targets, 22 catches, 195 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 58.9 (57)
0.5 PPR: 69.9 (58)
1 PPR: 80.9 (58)

Darrel Williams: Rushing 12-47, 1 TD
Receiving: 9 targets, 7 catches, 64 Yds
Standard: 17.1 (87)
0.5 PPR: 20.6 (86)
1 PPR: 24.1 (86)

The CEH hype train hit a new high when Damien Williams opted out. Buyer’s beware. There are a whole bunch of weapons on this team. Yes, CEH is going to have a solid year. No, I don’t like him as my RB6. I have zero exposure to him because the hype will not equal the production. He is going to have a great year, but he will not be elite. Stop with this RB6 nonsense. Get him if he slides(he won’t), and if you already have him, sell him for elite players and enjoy the benefits of nabbing him early. He is gonna produce, but taking him over some of the guys I see him going over is insane. This offense has too much weaponry to think he is going to dominate the way people expect.

The rest of these guys are serviceable as flex options, but picking which performs on a weekly basis is going to be borderline impossible. I don’t like any of them as anything other than late fliers, and good luck figuring out which one to take a shot with. I suspect Washington gets the most looks, but suspicious minds can’t go on together I hear. The King says so. And if you think I mean LeBron, you are probably not my target audience. And you listen to horrible music.

WR:

Tyreek is fast. Real fast. Faster than cameras can show. But trust me, he is fast.

Tyreek Hill: Rushing: 18-133-1 TD: 2 FMBL
Receiving: 121 targets, 82 catches, 1,289 Yds, 10 TD
Standard: 206.2 (3)
0.5 PPR: 247.2 (2)
1 PPR: 288.2 (2)

Mecole Hardman: Rushing: 6-34, 2 FMBL
Receiving: 74 targets, 45 catches, 801 Yds, 7 TD
Standard: 123.5 (36)
0.5 PPR: 146 (39)
1 PPR: 168.5 (42)

Sammy Watkins: Receiving: 61 targets, 36 catches, 455 Yds, 4 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 68.5 (72)
0.5 PPR: 86.5 (73)
1 PPR: 104.5 (74)

Demarcus Robinson: Receiving: 49 targets, 29 catches, 392 Yds, 5 TD
Standard: 69.2 (71)
0.5 PPR: 83.7 (77)
1 PPR: 98.2 (78)

Byron Pringle: Receiving: 8 targets, 5 catches, 51 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 11.1 (143)
0.5 PPR: 13.6 (145)
1 PPR: 16.1 (146)

Tyreek rhymes with elite. Well it should, because Tyreek is elite. In every format, on every field, in every way. He is uncoverable. The only reason he is not WR1 overall is because of the other weapons on this team. You cannot stop this guy. You cannot cover this guy. And you cannot stop him. WR1 is well within his reach. Elite WR is his floor. And he has a generational talent throwing him the ball. Scoop him up, lock him into your lineup, and enjoy watching him make everyone look slow.

Mecole Hardman is the guy I have most exposure to in this WR corps. HIs ADP does not do him justice. Mahomes is gonna light up defenses, and this kind of speed is going to capitalize. Hardman is a breakout candidate in 2020. His floor is relatively safe, and his ceiling is kinda ridiculous opposite Hill.

Watkins is not on any of my teams. Sorry, Hardman is better, and he is being drafted like he is the WR2 for the Chiefs. He is not anymore. He should provide ok fantasy stats, but I would only take him as a late flier due to the talent surrounding him. Honestly, I would rather have Robinson at this point.

Ignore Pringle. I know the chips are delicious, but this guy doesn’t belong in the same conversation as the others. We haven’t even gotten to TE and hes like weapon 7.

TE:

I would be stoked if Mahomes threw to me too. Party on, Travis

Travis Kelce: Receiving: 121 targets, 86 catches, 1,157 Yds, 7 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 156.7 (1)
0.5 PPR: 199.7 (1)
1 PPR: 242.7 (1)

Ricky Seals-Jones: Receiving: 28 targets, 15 catches, 167 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 28.7 (53)
0.5 PPR: 36.2 (53)
1 PPR: 43.7 (52)

Deon Yelder: Receiving: 3 targets, 2 catches, 22 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 8.2 (72)
0.5 PPR: 9.2 (77)
1 PPR: 10.2 (77)

Kelce is virtually the unanimous TE1. For good reason. Mahomes is that good reason, because Mahomes is an awesome QB. Kelce is going to produce crazy numbers as a TE. This offense does that for players. Kelce and Tyreek are going to be the top two targets. I see Kelce going early, so I have minimal exposure to him because I do believe other TEs are due for big years, but if you get Kelce, you never have to worry about TE again. TE3 is his floor.

Seals-Jones is a high-risk high-reward TE. Kelce will dominate the targets, but Tricky Ricky could snag some TDs and targets in the red zone, and Mahomes is an equal opportunity destroyer. I am ok sneaking him late, and if Kelce goes down, RSJ instantly vaults into elite territory.

Deon Yelder is an afterthought unless injuries ravage the Chiefs.

I have the Chiefs scoring 1,517.54 points in 0.5 PPR formats, which unsurprisingly is first. Feel free to target so many of these guys. Mahomes will reward you. A Mahomes Tyreek stack is going to pay off big-time. Same with Mahomes Kelce. Same with Mahomes and most of these guys. Target Chiefs, and ride them to a ship. It’s gonna be a helluva year in Kansas City. Which isn’t even in Kansas… who did that?
