We’re often told to buy-low and sell-high. However, sometimes, there are times to sell-low before the player’s value gets even lower. Here are some vets to sell-low on.
Derrick Henry (RB4)
He hasn’t been as destructive as he has been historically, but he is still doing quite well considering how poorly his team is playing. Derrick Henry has been defying the odds for how well he’s running considering his age, but at 30 next season, I think the slight signs of the drop in dominance is showing the beginnings of the end. He could be a free agent this upcoming season so his future situation is uncertain, and he may not have a massive contract to guarantee him usage.
Tony Pollard (RB15)
The situation that led to his breakout performance has changed and it is showing. Dallas has an amazing offence with a top offensive line. Tony Pollard is a free agent next year and without the Dallas offence could continue to decline in production.
Austin Ekeler (RB25)
This is another aging RB with signs of decline. Austin Ekeler has had some big games so he still may have some value before he hits free agency this offseason.
DeAndre Hopkins (WR15)
At 32 next season, his age cliff is likely quickly approaching. DeAndre Hopkins has still been decent for the NFL and for fantasy this season, but I’m not confident it lasts long, especially with how the Titans seem to be on the decline.
Wrap-Up
Sometimes, it’s best to cut your losses when you can. Sure there’s a chance these guys could rebound, but I would rather sell them now than end up stuck with nothing like with Melvin Gordon III, Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook, or Allen Robinson II. These are some vets to sell-low on.
