NHL Best Bet: May 26th

Ian Cole celebrates goal, NHL Best Bet

The NHL playoffs have been incredible so far. We aren’t even into the conference championships yet, and we have seen mostly entertaining series. Most of the match-ups are evenly played and could go either way on any night. I feel like every time left has a chance to lift the Stanley Cup come next month.

Let’s take a look at our NHL Best Bet for May 26th.

NHL Best Bet

Carolina Hurricanes celebrate at scoring goal, NHL Best Bet.

The Carolina Hurricanes have been a tale of two teams. On home ice, they are undefeated so far in the postseason. On the road, they have yet to win their first game. They are the only team left in the postseason that has not won a game on the road or lost a game on home ice.

At PNC Arena, the Hurricanes are averaging four goals per game while only 1.6 goals per game on the road. On home ice, the Canes only give up 1.4 goals per game. Away from PNC Arena, the Hurricanes are allowing 4.2 goals per game.

The New York Rangers also play much better on home ice than on the road. In the playoffs, the Rangers are 1-4 on the road and have been outscored 21-10 away from Madison Square Garden.

Igor Shesterkin is projecting to be in the starter’s net for the Rangers tonight. He follows similar trends as these two teams do so far in the playoffs. At Madison Square Garden, Shesterkin has been playing lights out with a 2.05 GAA and a .949 SV%. On the road, Shesterkin has been the complete opposite. He has 3.99 GAA and .873 SV% on away ice.

I expect these trends to continue and anticipate the Hurricanes taking care of business at home.

The Play: Carolina Hurricanes Money Line (-160)
